Personal Lines - Manager (Motor Channel)

Our client, one of the leading General Insurance Co. is looking out for Manager - Retail Lines / Personal Lines

Below mentioned are the details for the profile

Location: Mumbai

Salary: Hike based on current CTC (Upto 14 Lacs p.a.)

Responsibilities:

- Strategic Planning - In close co-ordination with the Vice President - Personal Lines is jointly responsible for implementing sound underwriting rules and monitor Personal Lines/Retail Lines portfolio.

- Marketing - The Personal Lines Underwriting Manager will take a proactive role in:

a. Working with Corporate Management to formulate, ensure and maintain effective underwriting parameters.

b. Monitor portfolio performance and trends in loss ratios.

c. The review, modification and development of products to meet the country business objectives and market needs.

d. Co-ordinate with the branches with both Agency and the Marketing Groups to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines by producers. This would entail setting up effective monitoring tools.

e. To track and monitor the Market in terms of size, potential, segmentation (demographic/SEC etc) and opportunities. This would also entail competition, monitoring and strategies to keep ahead of the competition.

- Underwriting - The Personal Lines Underwriting Manager position is vested with underwriting authority and would be responsible to ensure that the budgeted loss ratio goals are achieved by country. This would also encompass apprising the corporate management of potential loss segments and identifying profitable segments with assistance from Portfolio analyst / Actuary. The job profile would also include:

- Rate review exercises to ensure profitability of portfolio.

- Underwriting Audits of Branches to ensure that underwriting norms are being followed.

- Monitoring of job performance and training of junior underwriting staff.

- Preparation and transmission of business reports for Profit Center Head and Regional and Home Office.

- Coordination with Operations and Systems to ensure that underwriting parameters are built into the system and benchmarks are achieved for document issuance and customer service.

- Training - The Personal Lines Underwriting Manager would be required to conduct product trainings for producers, internal staff, affinity partners.

- Resource will also monitor the acquisition cost and ensure that it remains within the Budgeted costs.
