Assistant Procurement Manager
Qualification: Mechanical Engineer from NIT or equivalent top tier institute
- Candidate is expected to implement overall procurement operations, maintaining security of supply and optimum value for money. This will include -
- Liaises with sales & project departments to determine their product and service needs
- Understand products and specifications in detail
- Identify qualified and cost-effective vendors,
- Seek quotations & proposals,
- Evaluate proposals on technical as well as commercial aspects
- Recommendation to user departments for final selection
- Placing purchase orders
- Communicates with suppliers and other third-party agencies to ensure quality, timeline and correctness of the material as per the purchase orders
- Oversees supply chain management in coordination with Logistics team
- Processes payments and invoices in coordination with accounts team
- Successful delivery of purchased goods to user department / client as needed
- Candidate is also expected to conduct additional activities in order to strengthen sourcing strength of the company and give it competitive advantage.
Such activities may include:
- Monitoring business trends and product availability to provide cost optimized solutions for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times
- Nurturing relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for company
- Continuous Identification for potential new suppliers
- Research into new products and services to meet company's goals
- Develop new strategies for procurement & overall supply chain together with the help of user and logistics departments
- Develop and implement systemization in supply chain management including regular reporting to the CEO
Requirements:
- Strong negotiation Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proficiency in English
- Well-organized, self-motivated person with strong analytical skills
