Position Overview: The Senior IT Software and SaaS Buyer is a key member of the procurement team responsible for managing the acquisition process of software solutions and Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings for the organization. This role entails strategic sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT solutions that meet the organization's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing: Identify and evaluate software and SaaS vendors to fulfil the organization's IT requirements. Develop sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and budgetary constraints.

Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with software and SaaS vendors. Collaborate with vendors to understand product roadmaps, negotiate contracts, and resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process.

Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with software and SaaS providers to secure favorable terms and pricing. Ensure contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements while protecting the organization's interests.

Requirements Analysis: Work closely with IT stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for software and SaaS solutions. Translate business needs into technical specifications and evaluation criteria for vendor selection.

Solution Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of software and SaaS solutions, including product demos, proof of concepts, and vendor assessments. Assess factors such as functionality, scalability, security, and total cost of ownership.

Procurement Process Management: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from initial vendor engagement to contract execution and implementation. Ensure timely delivery of software solutions while adhering to procurement policies and procedures.

Budget Management: Develop and maintain budgets for software and SaaS procurement activities. Monitor expenditures, track cost savings, and optimize spending to maximize value for the organization.

Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and senior management. Provide regular updates on procurement activities, project status, and key milestones.

Industry Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software and SaaS procurement. Leverage market intelligence to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field (master's degree preferred).

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT procurement, with a focus on software and SaaS solutions.

- Proven track record of successfully managing complex procurement projects and negotiating contracts with software vendors.

- Strong understanding of software licensing models, subscription-based pricing, and contract terms.

- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate technical requirements and assess vendor capabilities.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence decision-making.

- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., e-procurement platforms, contract management systems).

- Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Technology Procurement Executive (CTPE) are a plus.
