Director Energy and Climate

Key Responsibilities:

(A) Leadership and Strategy:

- Develop and articulate a clear vision and strategic direction for the climate in alignment with organizational goals.

- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive climate change strategies, including mitigation, adaptation, and resilience-building measures.

- Provide leadership and guidance to the staff, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

- Monitor and analyze global climate trends, policies, and regulations to inform climate strategies and priorities.

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration in the climate space.

(B) Program Development and Implementation:

- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of climate-related programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with thematic and organizational objectives.

- Lead the development of project proposals, including conceptualization, planning, and budgeting, in collaboration with relevant teams and stakeholders.

- Monitor and evaluate program performance and impact and make strategic adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.

- Ensure effective coordination and communication among program teams, stakeholders, and partners to maximize synergy and impact.

(C) Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy:

- Represent the organization as a thought leader and advocate for climate action at national and international forums, conferences, and events.

- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, Multilateral & Bilateral organizations, research institutions, and industry partners.

- Engage with policymakers and decision-makers to influence climate-related policies and regulations, advocating for evidence-based solutions and best practices.

- Lead efforts to raise awareness and build capacity on climate change issues through outreach, education, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

(D) Resource Mobilization and Partnerships:

- Lead fundraising efforts for climate-related programs and projects, including cultivating relationships with donors, foundations, and other funding sources.

- Collaborate with the other team members to develop funding proposals and secure funds to support climate initiatives.

- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations with other organizations, leveraging complementary expertise and resources to maximize impact.

- Ensure effective stewardship of resources and compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
