Job Description: - Advise on Patentability - including conducting patentability searches for further evaluation of inventions with the team. - Advise on Freedom to Operate - including conducting FTO searches for further enabling an analysis on issued or pending patents to assess whether a product/process may be considered to infringe any patent(s) owned by a third party/others. - Patent Drafting and filing - Preparing drafts of patent specifications (detailed descriptions/claims) covering techno-legal aspects of patentable inventions. - Insert changes suggested by inventors or under review. - Suggest modifications or extensions to the definition of the invention. - Examination of Patents - Preparing draft of responses to examination reports issued by patent examiners - Managing hearings before patent examiners and preparing written submissions - Advise on white-space analysis - including conducting white-space search and preparing reports of existing, granted, and filed patents and informing the inventors/designers of a space which would enable further exploration for the development of new products, services, and processes. - Exploratory searches - Supporting the development team with aspects related to patents filed by third parties.
