Business Advisory Services The BAS team seeks to nurture inclusive agri-business models that offer potential of financial and social returns to market actors and smallholder households. We do this by: - Supporting small holder farmers develop sound livelihood plans and help develop business plans for those interested in setting up a FPC - Undertaking market diagnostics and value chain appraisals. - Identifying value chain constraints that are causing inefficiencies. - Co-creating and trialling different business models with a range of different market actors, from national agri-businesses to local market actors such as Farmer Producer Organisations or Companies (FPOs / FPCs). - Buying down the initial risk and addressing the high start-up costs associated with innovation, e.g. through the provision of cost-sharing grants. - Building the capacity of market actors such that they have the skills and understanding to secure benefit from the business models and the changing market environment. - Facilitating linkages between businesses and informal enterprises, including FPOs / FPCs. - Liaising with market actors and smallholders about what works (and what doesn- t work), for whom, how and why, and helping partners develop long term win-win collaborations - Promoting uptake of viable business models and liaising with government stakeholders where necessary about the policy environment. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The person will be responsible for leading fundraising from private and public sector companies in India and will manage key relationships with the donors with a focus on livelihoods, agriculture and women empowerment The person will work in close collaboration with local and international experts, the business advisory teams and farmers working in the value chains and many partner organizations contributing to the overall transformation. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Determine the annual fundraising strategy and targets from corporates in consultation with the Team Leader - Lead and manage the discussions with potential clients, understand areas of mutual interest and explore partnerships - Prepare concept notes, pitch presentations and funding proposals - Ensure timely reporting by project teams as per grant agreements and provide inputs as necessary - Manage donor relationships and grant extensions - Represent Palladium India at Industry CSR events and other key forums as required and enhance visibility of Palladium India KEY SELECTION CRITERIA - Post-graduate level qualifications or higher in economics, business administration, marketing, communications, social sciences or similar discipline from a reputable university. - A minimum of 8 years of experience in fund raising/ resource mobilization/ business development, or related field - A sound understanding of the CSR and donor landscape in India - Entrepreneurial aptitude and willing to take initiative - Demonstrated experience in raising funds in areas of livelihoods and smallholder farmers - Good presentation and interpersonal skills to be able to work with partners/clients in senior positions - Willingness to learn from mistakes and ability to think - out-of-the-box- . - Fluency in English. Knowledge of Marathi will be an advantage - Fluency in MS-Office, preparing proposals and presentations - Involvement in extra-curricular university activities is an advantage.
