Head - Operations

The Head of Change Management is a senior leadership role in the Operations Shared Services organisation.

- The role is benefits-focused and involves defining the benefits, assessing progress towards realisation and achieving measured improvements for large scale transformation programmes.

- The role holder will focus on developing a strategic and proactive approach to Change Management to identify strategic opportunities to improve the operating model, improve commercial effectiveness and drive significant, measurable process improvements.

The role holder will understand the economic importance and commercial impact of the Change Management activities and actions and they will drive value in everything they do.

- Own and be accountable for the successfully delivery of all Change and Project

- Management programmes and deliverables in India

- Develop the Change Management strategy and contribute to the Global Change strategy &agenda

- Develop a Target Operating Model for Change within the wider Change organisation

- Lead and be accountable for transition management ensuring that business as usual is maintained during the transition and the changes are effectively integrated into the business

- Ensure the continuous drive of process improvements across agreed functional business areas

- Manage the Receive Management function with ownership of transition of multiple complex investment banking business processes from all Send locations

- Operating within agreed governance frameworks, lead change management reviews & improvement initiatives

- Drive demonstrable value through process improvements

- Drive process capability and improvements through change management programmes

- Target improvements in value (cost/risk/efficiency) in line with agreed process improvement targets and other stretch goals

- Build and maintain effective relationships with send businesses and regions

- Review/develop and operate within a robust change risk management framework

- Play a vital influencing role in ensuring budgetary performance is met/ exceeded

- Demonstrate the ability to identify process efficiencies, to lead communications with senior stakeholders and to drive the transformation to a successful conclusion

- Create and manage measurement systems to track adoption, utilisation and proficiency of individual changes

- Create and enable reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success

- Ensure the team of change managers fully integrates into the wider global change team

- Lead the Change Management Team in Chennai ensuring robust performance management

- Share and develop best practices between both BSS and the Send businesses and insights experiences from other organisations

Profile of Candidate

Professional/technical experience

- The ideal candidate will have a Senior Leadership and commercial background gained in a Financial Services Operation (preferably Private, Investment Banking or a Wealth Management experience) and they will have previous experience of delivering value from in the Change Management arena.

- The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and delivering large scale E2E complex programme initiatives, understanding end to end operational processes and they will be able to drive value through evidencing superior commercial skills with the ability to design and implement innovative solutions.

- The right candidate will have extensive knowledge of the change and process management for investment services operations and they will have an excellent understanding of the operations environment including knowledge of investment products and associated support services. Experience of off /on shoring arrangements including transition management is also essential.

- The successful candidate will be able to show that they have specific experience in the development and implementation of a framework and processes for a new change management organisation. They will have experience of delivering robust process efficiencies, leading change programmes within budgets and timescales and to illustrate a track record of being able building strong control environments combined with efficient, scalable processes.

- A solid understanding of business change techniques including the application of industry-standard methodologies, techniques, complex modelling, and scenario planning is essential.

Academic and professional qualifications

- The ideal candidate will process a high quality degree level education and a first class general academic track record.

- The ideal candidate will be qualified in Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies. The ideal candidate will also be qualified with appropriate change management and project methodology e.g. Prosci, PRINCE II, MSP.

Language skills

- The successful candidate will have an excellent command of the English Language with strong written and verbal communications skills

- The successful candidate will be responsible for encouraging and promoting open and honest communication, holding effective, regular team meetings and ensuring that all direct reports within the function are doing the same.
