Operations Manager : Market Operations

- Looking for a Ops Manager ; Market Operations in India to manage the continued growth and responsibilities being carried out to support the service and operational delivery needs for the Investment Operations Outsourcing (IOO) clients globally.

- The role requires an in-depth understanding of the capital market, different financial instruments and their processing requirements.

- Should have a good understanding of financial markets, the regulations that govern them.

- Should have proven leadership experience in motivating, leading and managing large teams. Knowledge of business strategy development is necessary to provide long term planning and to manage the profitability/performance of a major business segment

Qualifications : External

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Effective communication to key relationship stakeholders;

- Lead, and take staffing decisions, including performance management and administration

- Take a lead role in transition planning and execution

- Participate in and understand IOO's long term global strategy to effectively support the growth

- Oversee the financial and staff resources, including developing and managing expense budgets, and ensuring that resources are available to accomplish the objectives set for the area;

- Assume full accountability for the performance/profitability of the area as compared to the plan;

- To bring in best practice into the team in all areas and leverage external relationships

- Act as a subject area expert, develop and maintain specific subject expertise within the team.

- Understand in-depth the inherent risk within key procedures, and partner with Risk Management, Control and Audit team, in assessing and managing the efficacy of the control structure.

- Display a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE :

- Relevant experience of about 12-15 years in the financial securities industry of which, operations experience of at least 6-8 years in supervising teams with managerial responsibilities. Trade Support - Confirmations and Settlements experience would be an added advantage

- High level of understanding of different financial products, financial markets and regulations that govern them.

- Relevant computer literacy ( and especially Excel and Powerpoint ).

- Excellent communication skills.

- Effective coaching/ training skills.
