Operational Risk/Framework & Control Role - Investment Bank

We are hiring and you will be consulting one of our client Top Global Investment Bank on following:

Operational Permanent Control & Risk

(8-10 years- experience)

Location: Mumbai, India

Position Purpose:

1. The role is to provide both Business Units and Senior Management with the assurance and visibility that operations are executed in a controlled and managed way through the design and execution of a Permanent Control and Risk framework.

2. Scope of the role requires intervention on occasional / ad-hoc subjects (requiring reactivity and an analytical mind) and on projects of greater scale (entity-level transversal projects or across Bank's other sites) and coordination with various teams onshore and within Bank India Solutions (Business Lines, IT, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Tax, Risk, etc.)

Primary Responsibilities

I. Operational Risk Management

- Act as First Line of Defence for the organisation's platforms.

- Ensure timely and comprehensive preparation of risk maps for new activities and review of risk maps of existing activities. Design and implement the control framework (Level 1 and Level 2 controls) for the same.

- Gather, prepare and analyze relevant metrics and data on operational risk for identification of inherent risk, controls and safeguards, and residual risks for identified business areas.

- Ensure effective execution of Level 2 controls for the existing activities and enhance the coverage and depth of the same.

- Advise Management of the status of the control environment. Use findings of control deficiencies to drive risk management and process and control improvement.

- Coordinate with global stakeholders to share and review control results.

II. Risk Governance

- Understand and apply all established policies and other criteria in support of the Bank and India Solutions risk governance framework.

- Document and review policies and processes associated to the Permanent Control framework.

- Ensure effective and timely analysis of errors and incidents and implementation of corrective and preventive actions

- Ensure timely and comprehensive contribution to committees such as Internal Control Committee, Permanent Control Committee, Risk ORC Reports.

- Manage and operate operational risk management templates/ tools to achieve defined objectives to provide value to the business including key risk indicators, operational loss/incident assessment, and operational risk dashboards.

Profile of the Candidate

I. Education

- University Graduate (Arts/Humanities or Commerce).

- Post-Graduation / Specialised Risk /Audit Certification will be an advantage.

II. Experience

- Experience in a Controls Functions, Operational Controls and Reporting or Internal audit.

- Has worked in cross-functional teams within and outside India.

- Has worked on and presented materials to senior management and senior stakeholders.

III. Skills

- Exhibits an understanding of banking/financials products and services

- Has a good understanding of the principles of risk management.

- Ability to identify and measure the risks throughout a business process, workflow, combined with associated technology including applications and/or systems.

- Advanced English communication and interpersonal skills.

- Intermediate level of competence with MS Office, (Excel, Power Point).

- Strong organizational skills with eye for detail.

- Ability to multi-task and manage concurrent deliverables with shifting priorities and tight timelines.

- Self-motivated with proven ability to work independently with limited direct supervision

- Ability to work with teams, influence and co-ordinate with onshore and offshore counterparts
