Jiva seeks to do this through leveraging technology and impacting at scale. As we know, smallholder farmers are key to the future of agriculture, humanity & the planet; however they face significant challenges: - 500 million smallholder farmers globally who support over 2 billion people within their families. Yet they comprise of the majority of the worlds poorest people - 70% of the worlds food produced by smallholder farmers. Yet they comprise of the worlds most undernourished, hungry population - They are the most vulnerable to climate change which threatens up to 25% of crop yields. Jiva provides four key services to small holder farmers: - Advisory platform that will attract a sticky user base of farmers and drives sales of inputs through Jiva - Input eCommerce that will drive demand for credit which is required by many farmers to afford appropriate inputs application - Credit services that secures a relationship with farmers who agree to sell their offtakes through Jiva - Offtake services through transparency in prices and reliability in operations What this venture offers: - Opportunity to take a large role and shape a start-up and product in its early stage - Experience international adventure in Asia markets. The role will be based out of town / city in Indonesia like Makassar / Surabaya, reporting into the VP &amp; Head of Operations, Indonesia. What you will do - As a Branch Manager, you're responsible for inspiring your team, create ownership opportunities, and to deliver on the following key dimensions. Strategic effectiveness -&nbsp; - You will contribute to the design and implementation of the business &amp; operations road map, as well as managing the procurement, sales and supply chain strategy for the product(s), within the country. - You will participate and contribute to continuous development of Jiva platform with the objective of providing better solutions and experience to Farmers, Micro Collectors (MC), Jiva team and other stakeholders, while creating a robust business model for Jiva - You will demonstrate sound judgement within defined practices and policies and select techniques for obtaining solutions that will contribute to future results and successes. - Your strong financial acumen, ability to read and comprehend tasks such as counterparty and credit risk management, will enhance our existing platform. Operational effectiveness -&nbsp; - You will be responsible for optimal utilization of company resources and derive maximum capacity efficiencies by eliminating controllable losses. - You will be able to build an engaged team &amp; implement required infrastructure, to deliver Farmers &amp; MC growth, volumes, revenue &amp; margins as per the business plan. - You will also be required to interface with appropriate regulatory bodies for obtaining permissions, approvals, etc. Organizational effectiveness: - You should have a demonstrated ability of actively building your teams - hiring, training, and developing team members. - You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Operations in buying &amp; selling decisions (of agri-inputs &amp; agri-produce) with robust demand &amp; supply planning &amp; by providing adequate and timely market information and analysis. - You will be comfortable engaging with key stakeholders in Country team &amp; Product Development Group, including formal business reviews and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives with the leadership teams. Who we are looking for: - MBA with 3-7 years of post-qualification industry experience. - Entrepreneurial, curious and passionate about making a difference towards some of the worlds most important problems - Keenness to understand potential of new-age technologies &amp; solutions and applying them in day-to-day operations for customer delight. - Creativity and the ability to recognize opportunities for improvement, taking initiatives and drive changes - Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise between multiple stakeholders, using new-age collaboration tools - An understanding of how, and the willingness to go the extra mile, to bring added business value. - Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills. - Relevant experience in industries such as agtech, supply chain/logistics, marketplaces/eCommerce or fintech in developing markets would always be a value add - A previous experience in Sales, Supply chain and Operations would also be a value add. - Fluent and excellent English verbal and written communication skills is a must. Bahasa Indonesia knowledge would be an advantage.
