About Role: This role is for managing the operations of Fraud Control Unit (FCU) for Ola Financial Services. OFS, a subsidiary of Ola, is a fin-tech involved in providing consumer credit in India that envisions convenience, accessibility, transparency and value proposition all at one place. The ideal candidate is expected to define, design and deliver operations involving fraud mitigation, identification, and resolution. He/she should leverage data and analytics for innovation and efficiency in the FCU ops. The reporting line is to Head of Risk and Decision Sciences at OFS. Responsibilities: - Manage fraud operations of business activity from a wallet and postpaid constituting both internal (Ola cabs) as well as external (outside merchants) transactions. - Ensure the development of a robust investigation process and formulation of effective root cause analysis and take appropriate actions to mitigate fraud risks. - Execute and provide real-time feedback to the fraud strategy team on policies designed to arrest and minimize first party, third party and transnational fraud through various payment channels. - Formulate basic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for detection and reaction mechanism of fraud. - Put in place information gathering and audit infrastructure for prevention and detection of frauds through investigations. - Be an active enabler to the process of building internal systems through collaboration with analytics and engineering for implementing decisive and prompt actions in case of fraud. - Assist the compliance team in reporting suspicious transactions to FIU-IND. - Discuss with internal auditors any significant findings of suspected fraud or irregularity or a failure of internal control systems of material nature and reporting the matter to the Board. - Exhibit the balancing act of trade-off between customer experience while minimizing fraud. Required Qualifications: - Good understanding of the behavioral patterns of fraudsters with a rich and total experience and follow up actions to back it up. - Strong in hypothesizing and challenging the possible sequence of events on the suspicious activities. - Meticulous in planning the process of detection, validation, termination of fraudulent accounts. - Experience of 6+ years in NBFCs/Banks with working knowledge of Fraud Control Unit activities for at least 2 different lending products. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and make complex investigation decisions with little to no guidance. - Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to recognize non-obvious patterns. - Knowledge of Regulatory Reporting and Compliance while working with external nodal agencies. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working in a startup, preferably Fin-tech startup. - Past experience on coordination with Data Science/Product teams for fraud ops.
