OLA - Taxation Role

- Leading the indirect tax function globally for the Ola group whereby, there are 9 domestic entities having 122 GST Registrations across India and 6 foreign entities spanning across the geographies of Australia, New Zealand, UK & Netherlands;

- Filing monthly GST refund pertaining to Inverted Duty Structure (IDS) for Ola Electric business followed by robust interaction with tax officials to ensure that the money is received from the tax department on time;

- Obtaining IGCR license for import of lithium ion cells at concessional duty rate of 5% and undertaking monthly customs compliance for the same.

- Ensuring GST compliances, e-invoicing and e-waybill processes for 122 GST Registrations using API based integration tools.

- Ensuring proper vendor reconciliation processes and vendor communication in case of 2B vs 3B mismatches.

- Obtaining EPCG Authorizations for setting up the machinery and equipment infrastructure that is bought from both domestic manufacturers and international vendors.

- Optimizing the GST credit utilization to ensure minimum cash outflow and maintaining a robust process with the AP team to avoid loss of GST on account of 2B vs 3B compliance.

- Handling investigations with DGGI Authorities, VAT/CST assessments, Service Tax Audits, GST annual returns, GST assessments and related litigations for the entire Ola group;

- Advising and assisting with the tax related due diligence and documentations in case of acquisitions, mergers and demergers;

- Minimizing the indirect tax compliance cost while ensuring the compliances are error free and the quality of compliance is top notch;

- Responsible for keeping the accounting books reconciled with the tax returns and preparing periodic reports for top management and auditors;

- Preparing SOPs and training various departments to establish the best business practices across the functions such as AP/AR teams, Sourcing, Manufacturing & Business Finance;
