Job Description - Associate or Manager - State Advocacy

Location: Delhi-NCR

Key Responsibilities:

- You will be an integral part of the team that will inform business decisions, policymaking, and advanced discourse on mobility and the future of work in India and elsewhere (especially other Commonwealth markets like Australia, New Zealand, UK).


- You will be leading Ola Mobility Institute's outreach to multiple stakeholders including state governments, research organisations, regulators and civil society.- You will be assessed on the basis of your commitment, creativity and ability to make a compelling case for OMI's policy-based and empirical research at the right forums.


- A keen interest in mobility innovations, public policy and clean energy is a must. The research team at OMI does groundbreaking research on topics surrounding Electric Mobility, Urban Mobility, Accessibility and Inclusion, Energy Transition and the Future of Work. Each of these areas sit at the intersection of mobility and public good.

- Your job will entail identify the right stakeholders specially within state government departments and nurturing a fruitful relation with various stakeholders to ensure OMI's work reaches the right forums. You will also need to have your ears on the ground to inform the leadership on focus areas identified by relevant stakeholders.

- The team at OMI has educational backgrounds in architecture, urban planning, political science, development economics, mathematics, sociology, policy-making and entrepreneurship. Your areas of interest should include communications, data visualisation, analytics, mobility and the changing nature of work environments. OMI's research don't necessarily deal with issues of today, but looks to build an equitable mobility system aimed at day after tomorrow.

Your scope of work includes :


Outreach and Communications:


- OMI's research cuts across multiple stakeholders. It is crucial to identify the right forum to present these finding and work in tandem with the right collaborator. Identifying the goals, the approach and tangible outcome becomes crucial.


- Outreach to the right stakeholders and drawing up the appropriate message is equally important.

- Leading OMI's outreach at the right forum.

- Working closely with state governments to understand their areas of interest.

- Championing OMI's research and building a fruitful relationship with at least 3-4 states in the country.

- Coordinate with different vendors, government agencies, civic society etc.-

- Aid the team in preparing briefs on policy issues & submissions relevant to OMI's areas of research.

- Identify opportunities for impactful research which will resonate with policymakers.

Required Attributes and Qualifications:-


- 1-4 years of work experience in policy advocacy and communications.


- Undergraduate/Post graduation in fields of public policy/communications/public affairs/law good to have.

- Strong analytical research skills and aptitude for numbers.

- Ability to comprehend data and prepare impactful messages using visualisation

- Highly organised and detail-oriented thinker who can juggle multiple, competing priorities.
