ESG Lead

Summary:

The ESG lead will serve as a key member of the team, working directly with the CFO and investor relations team. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong ESG expertise, and the ability to collaborate across departments to drive sustainable and responsible business practices. While also having a good understanding of financial principles.

Responsibilities:

ESG Strategy and Implementation:

1. Develop and implement the company's ESG strategy in alignment with business goals.

2. Work closely with executive leadership to integrate ESG considerations into overall corporate strategy.

Reporting and Compliance:

1. Oversee the preparation and submission of ESG reports for internal and external stakeholders.

2. Ensure compliance with relevant ESG reporting frameworks, regulations, and standards.

Stakeholder Engagement:

1. Act as the primary point of contact for ESG-related inquiries from investors, analysts, and other stakeholders.

2. Foster relationships with external organizations and industry groups to stay abreast of best practices and benchmarks.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

1. Conduct ESG risk assessments and work with relevant teams to develop mitigation strategies.

2. Provide guidance on incorporating ESG considerations into risk management processes.

Collaboration and Education:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sustainability, legal, and communications, to drive & educate internal teams on ESG principles and best practices.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Sustainability, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, SASB) is a plus.

2. Proven experience in leading ESG initiatives, preferably in a finance or corporate strategy role.

3. Strong understanding of financial principles and the integration of ESG into financial reporting.

4. Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and regulatory requirements.

5. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Skills:

1. Strong Program Management skills

2. Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence stakeholders.

3. Knowledge of sustainable finance and impact investing.

4. Experience with ESG data management platforms and reporting tool
