Role Overview

- The Data Science/Automation team is part of Sutherland Global Services- Analytics Centre of Excellence providing insightful and actionable inputs to businesses across domains such as BFSI, Mortgage, Travel, Healthcare and Retail. We deliver product enabled analytics solution and our offerings include cross sell/up sell opportunities, customer retention, text mining, customer segmentation among many others.

- The Data Science/Automation team is involved in the development of next generation interactive analytical and process automation products. The technology solutions are implemented on proprietary big data framework on top of both SQL and NoSQL data warehouse. The team also develops portals providing highly functional analytical dashboards and insightful reports.

- The incumbent should be able to utilize his/her analytical, statistical, programming skills to collect, analyze and interpret large datasets. Then use this information to develop data driven solutions to difficult business challenges or opportunities.

The incumbent should be having expertise on Statistical modelling, Machine learning, Text Mining, knowledge of Hadoop & Spark, has worked using code version control tool and has been a part of an analytics-enabled team providing solutions across various functional domains including Customer Management, BFSI, Mortgage, Travel, Healthcare, Retail and Telecom.

Job Requirement / Key Responsibilities

- Data scientist who can help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data, and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better services/products

- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques.

- Analyze data, come up with solutions (using available tools); intelligently leverage experience for work on Statistical modelling/text mining/Topic Modelling/Sentiment Analysis

- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.

- Work includes all phases of the modeling process: research & design, data extraction, verifying the integrity of data used for analysis, cleaning, model building and validation

- Able to strategically plan and efficiently execute project tasks.

- Develop and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders and team members.

Qualification and Skillsets (Technical & Functional)

Must have skills

- 3 to 5 years of work experience in Data Science, business intelligence, in the area(s) of advance statistical analysis/ statistical modeling/ text mining/ machine learning/ sentiment analysis, supervised & un-supervised learning

- Strong communication and other interpersonal skills are required to support working in project environments that includes internal, external and customer teams

- Strong experience in Python

- Experience with various machine learning algorithms like SVM, Decision Trees, Random Forest etc.

- Experience in NLP packages

- Experience with scikit-learn, tensorflow, keras, numpy, matplotlib, pandas.

- Experience in writing linguistic rules and strong on algorithms

- Experience with databases and SQL queries.

- Should have knowledge of Jira tool and should be aware of Agile Methodologies

- Should have working knowledge of a Version Control Tool such as SVN or Git. Git is preferred.

- Should have working experience with at least 1 flavors of Linux (CentOS, Fedora, RHEL, Ubuntu)

- Should have worked on maven

- NoSql databases
