Head of Compliance (US Banking laws) :&nbsp; Novo is seeking a highly qualified Head of Compliance with a proven track record working in the US banking and/or financial services industries. This person will help spearhead Novo's compliance strategy, by working across all departments to ensure company systems, processes, and practices are in line with the stringent regulatory requirements of a new fintech company. Unlike an accountant, Novo is always working in the background keeping everything in check. Reporting directly to the CEO, CTO, and Head of Data and Risk Analytics, you will: - Lead efforts to build and manage a large compliance team within Novo - Assist with preparation for and conduct of external audits with a range of regulatory bodies in the United States (Fed, NACHA, OCC, etc.), internal audits on key compliance issues, and, oversee the implementation of relevant compliance policy development - Execute the Compliance functional agenda by liaising with analysts, managers, and directors across all departments (product, operations, marketing) in order to understand, improve, and implement positive change through providing relevant and reliable compliance oversight and advice. - Document, revise, and publish compliance frameworks and procedures - Resolve compliance issues and develop long term structural improvements by building Novo's compliance frameworks from the ground up - Proactively engage regulators to create solid, long-term working relationships with them - Manage Novo's daily compliance function - Assist in the development of company wide fraud awareness training programmes - Assist in preparation of NDAs - Provide counsel and interpretation of BSA/ AML/ OFAC/ CTR regulatory matters and other related issues What's in it for you? - Work for a revolutionary early stage startup, backed by Barclays, poised for rapid growth and expansion - Competitive industry salary - Flexible working arrangements (i.e. remote work) - Be part of a young, driven, hard working team - Become a critical member of the team with real responsibility and the ability to shape the trajectory of the company as a whole Required Qualifications &amp; desired skills : - Relevant tertiary qualifications for senior compliance officer at a financial institution (Bachelors + Masters) - 10-15+ years experience working the financial services/banking industry - Previous work experience with US compliance regulations and US based entities is mandatory - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work in a fast paced work environment and culture - Ability to work cross departmentally, without the need for extensive hierarchical corporate structure - An inquisitive and highly detailed oriented work ethic - To be curious, quick, and relentlessly creative in approach to compliance problems
