Manager/Sr.Manager - Pharma Intelligence & Forensics Strategy


- The global Pharmaceutical Intelligence (PharmINT) & Forensics strategy is fully embedded in Novartis Anti-Counterfeiting program, which is destined to combat pharmaceutical crime create conditions to bring counterfeiters illegal traders to justice, recover losses through legal action, improve patient safety, preserve Novartis reputation create a tangible return on investment for business.


- The PharmINT Assistant Manager is a highly specialized technical role, reporting functionally to Global Head of Anti-Counterfeiting operationally to Global Pharmaceutical Intelligence Forensics Manager at Global Security.


- Under leadership of Global Pharmaceutical Intelligence Forensics Manager, purpose of role is to deliver professional timely cross-divisional assessments on all matters related to worldwide pharmaceutical forensic investigations for Anti-Counterfeiting Center of Excellence in Global Security.


- Specific duties include development, implementation, maintenance and/or use of counterfeit detection technologies methods (i.e. vibrational spectroscopy such as Raman, FTIR, NIR as well as multivariate statistical analysis) using authentication platform assets.


- All work must be performed in adherence to Novartis high technical, environmental, health safety standards. This position will require close collaboration substantial interaction with Global Security associates as well as with various internal stakeholders (i.e. Quality, Tech Ops, and Pharmacovigilance).


1. Lead the global management of the differential forensic assessment and testing procedures (TP) of a wide variety of physical pharmaceutical evidences including the management of the evidence's chain of custody. Ensure that all instrumental, quality, and forensic data are consistent with reported results of analysis. Perform statistical calculations to verify or validate analysis results as required


2. Provide expert policy advice on all matters related to Pharmaceutical intelligence and forensic investigations;

3. Deliver cost-efficient and comprehensive results for pharmaceutical intelligence collection operations: design and develop machine learning algorithms; discover, design, and develop analytical methods to support novel approaches of data and information processing; design and develop novel algorithms; perform explanatory data analyses and prepare and analyse historical data and identify patterns


4. Conduct the evaluation of new techniques and develop methods for pharmaceutical and forensic analysis;


5. Perform evidence profiling from pharmaceutical and forensic assessments to highlight criminal patterns, signatures or modus operandi to leverage anti-counterfeiting investigations of linked cases through data analysis and data mining;


6. Ensure appropriate escalation to responsible management in case of critical findings as per Current valid Standard Operating procedures and working instructions


7. Promote the department in line with the global security strategy by representing Global Security as a trustworthy and authentic business partner that provides essential value-added ser-vices. Use Pharmaceutical intelligence and operational forensics products to influence engagement with internal and external partners


8. Support the management, development and maintenance of the sustainable, integrated cross-divisional, pharmaceutical forensic services and platform;


9. Support the development, validation, transfer and maintenance of the cross-divisional spectral library to support robust multivariate/chemometrics statistical methods for reliable, cost-efficient and real time detection of counterfeit medicines;


10. Maintain current knowledge of local and international regulatory and legislative requirements and trends to provide expert advice and appropriate technical support on all quality and legal related matters.

4. Ability to work successfully in a cross-functional, matrix, project led environment.

Minimum requirements :


1. High quality, timeliness and targeted robust differential forensic assessments, reports and briefing pertaining to alleged counterfeit incidents


2. Development, validation, maintenance and deployments of cross-divisional authentication methods for counterfeit detection across Novartis divisions using cutting edge multivariate statistical methods, innovative technologies and integrated proficient pharmaceutical differential forensic assessment admissible in courts


3. Track record of innovative, tailored differential forensic planning and execution based on sound qualitative and quantitative forensic science principles and realistic implementation timelines


4. Ability to work successfully in a cross-functional, matrix, project led environment.
