Reason for the hire:

Ananya Birla Foundation is looking for a New Projects Lead who will look into building new projects that are strategically aligned with the objectives of the foundation. This will include the conceptualization, planning and assessing of projects, as well as work with partner organizations. The projects include designing a mental health toolkit, working on AI interventions in mental healthcare and working with relevant organizations to formulate policies to incorporate mental health education in school curriculums

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Lead a competent team spread across India and mentor, guide, and drive them to achieve their goals.

- Develop project plans, goals and objectives in alignment with ABF's strategy and mission

- Conduct research, needs assessments, and feasibility studies to ensure project viability.

- Coordinate and lead project teams, monitor progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets and ethical standards

- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the Indian mental health landscape

- Identify and develop strategic partnerships to leverage resources and expand projects

- Develop project monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess impact

- Work with government bodies to promote policy reform and implementation for mental health.

- Collaboration, and Partnership Development

- Establishing and maintaining constructive partnerships with all stakeholders e.g. innovative NGO's etc., with a view to enabling catalytic collaborations in the mental health thematic area.

- Strategic Thought Leadership and Program Management

- Driving and formulating and developing high-quality programs, with an emphasis on scaling-up innovative approaches in

- Mental health in Schools/Educational Institutions

- Developing and monitoring program / project budgets

- Taking leadership and responsibility for managing resources engaged for programs, with emphasis on team development and capacity building activities

COMPETENCIES & SOFT SKILLS


- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders

- Desire to explore innovative approaches and new ideas to solve problems

- A deep desire to work for the society to come up with mental health solutions

- Ability to manage and align multiple diverse stakeholders and their expectations, including donors, the internal Leadership, and Partner NGOs;

- Comfort and willingness to travel to remote locations and build relationships as and when required

- Strong orientation to the education sector, school programs

- Ability to build, lead and manage NGO partners decisively and teams within Ananya Birla Foundation

- Strong networks within the development sectors to create new and effective partnerships is an added advantage

EXPERIENCE

Must Haves:

- Should have 10-15 years of experience in mental health space

- Proven experience as a project manager with strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Experience in budget allocation and management

- Passion for mental health and creating impact.

- Should be at a leadership position in any of the leading mental health entities within India

- Preferably a doctorate in behavioral/psychology/community healthcare/global mental health related subject; should have touched mental health as part of research thesis.
