- At present, we are having an urgent opening for NATIONAL SALES MANAGER - MODERN TRADE for a REPUTED PHARMA MNC Co for their PERSONAL CARE division based at MUMBAI location. - The position is for personal care division and the main product is among top 3 in baby products in India - The company is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company based in Mumbai - National Sales Head is responsible for establishing Modern Trade set up for an emerging FMCG (Baby cosmetics &amp; Personal Care Portfolio). The organisation has presence across leading ecommerce channels as well as few Modern format stores, now its determined to exponentially expand Modern trade format stores. - Incumbent is expected to scale up entire Modern Trade &amp; Ecom business and would be fully accountable for Modern Trade sales strategy and revenue growth of the company on a PAN India basis, with a razor-sharp focus on Key account management, category management and Promotion planning with increase in distribution and market share. - She/He is expected to guide all Key account manager/Zonal Modern trade heads in delivering the overall sales objectives, Partners with Marketing team and takes pro-active initiatives to cease every opportunity to increase the sales in accordance with the companies- policies and strategies. - Reporting Structure : Direct line to Modern Trade &amp; Rx Sales Head and dotted line to Business Head. ( The reporting structure may change in future). All Zonal Modern Trade heads/ Key account managers will report into her/him. ( Total team size, including payroll &amp; 3rd Party headcount ~ 50+) Successful performance requires : - Strong strategic and entrepreneurial mindset and calculate risk taking appetite - Razor sharp focus on multiplying market share - Sound forward thinking and planning skills - Taking the full responsibility for decisions and repercussions and - Strong communication and negotiation skills - Clear commitment and vision to steer the Sales team Detailed Responsibilities (non-conclusive) : Strategic Responsibilities : 1. Prepare the Modern Trade sales strategy &amp; growth plans in line with business strategy 2. Lead resource for planning portfolio growth initiatives with accounts, assortment planning, launch planning and execution, development and execution of Joint Business Plans. 3. Category management and Promotion planning. 4. Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors. 5. Work closely with the business heads and top management in managing the consistency of the brand and supporting them with initiatives which are in line with the business objectives 6. Market and environmental scanning, advice on business trends and changes in the market place Business Objectives : 1. To achieve volume and value objectives of the Modern Trade within budget, time and policy parameters through efficient control of the network under charge 2. Open new Modern trade accounts at a robust pace and align on competitive terms of trade. 3. Work closely with Key Account Managers in achieving company's objective and vision. Lead resource for planning and negotiating for in-store activations, merchandising, sell-out plans with the accounts 5. Negotiate favorable annual trading and logistic contract with chain and 6. Provide trade information, competitor's activities and market intelligent to company 7. Manage Accounts receivables, Responsible for debt collection and resolve all long outstanding debts. Resolve customer's trade issues, complaints and operational matters. 8. Manage a large workforce including both Payroll and 3rd party resources(50+) across the Modern Trade channel. Ensure training &amp; development of resources and build talent pipeline. Financial Responsibilities : 1. Overall ownership of Modern Trade budgeting : visibility, monitoring and controlling. 2. Ensure all Modern Trade related claims : Sales and distributors claims (within stipulated time frame) 3. Distribution cost optimization and inventory optimisation responsibilities 4. Efficiency tracking of all the investments and promotions Qualification : - MBA or PGDM from a top Premium B. School, with 10+yrs of experience Experience: (Robust key account management experience in FMCG/FMCD is a must) - Should have strong Modern Trade knowledge with hands on experience in dealing with top Modern trade accounts ( Reliance, Big bazaar, Metro C&amp;C, Lulu etc) as customers - Robust Exposure and understanding of FMCG /FMCD industry - Entrepreneurial orientation/Commercial flair, Should have handled P&amp;L - Planning &amp; Budgeting for Sales Targets.. -Develop and nurture business partners: CFAs, CSAs, SS and Distributors - Interface with internal cross- functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination to execute company agenda
