National Sales Head - e-Commerce - Bangalore - Sr. Leadership role


- As Head of Sales, you will be managing a team which will be responsible for initiating and developing strong relationships with Small and medium enterprises as partners and sellers. They balance their time between creating partnerships, acquiring new customers, and enabling them to grow their business. 


- You will also work closely with high profile organizations directly and help with their procurement requirements and then work with internal teams to determine the best solution to address the business needs. Exhibit strong people managing skills capabilities across areas such as vendor management, program management, supply chain, IT tools and processes with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.

- The ideal candidate will exhibit strong analytical as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative climate. The role will require expertise both in internal team project management, working with leaders internally as well as in our partner organization to scale up the program, be a role model for your people - doing things wholeheartedly, communicating with passion and enthusiasm, embracing change as a way of working and obsess over our customers. To succeed in this role, the candidate should be adept at building frameworks, cascade best practices in people management to the last mile team through the managers, take bold bets and have a high level of judgment for decision making.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Head Sales function with more than 30 cities to enable partnerships and acquire sellers in specific categories and with desirable selection.

- Work closely with CEO across internal sales functions to draw a sales plan for the respective segments, define goals and metrics.

- Work with stakeholders to draft a sales strategy spanning across various businesses, define synergies in sales processes, org structures, uber goals and cascading goals

- Manage various internal sales functions including New seller Acquisition, Upselling, 3rd party franchisee operations, etc.

- Hire, train, and manage a team of Regional Sales Managers & Associate managers across multiple locations

- Develop mechanisms for applying learnings and experiences to improve sales processes

- Help define the seller base and industry verticals we target for various services using local knowledge, secondary research and past data

- Interface with internal teams to identify seller integration needs and deploy resources to lift these seller capabilities to work on online platform

- Drive adoption of new services, promotions or processes across city teams

- Analyze data and improve or develop processes to help sellers become successful on online platform.

- Review the processes through customer feedback mechanism and provide feedback and suggestions to modify them to enhance customer experience

Job Specifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred

Relevant Experience :

- More than 14+ years of experience in sales and leadership roles of large teams.

- Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment.

- Experience in a highly analytical, results-oriented environment with external customer interaction.

- Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to manage the business - by the numbers- . Must be metrics-driven.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly.

- Fluency in English is important along with awareness of local retail landscape

Preferred:

- Experience working with SME ecosystem.

- Experience with e-commerce, FMCG, retail, consumer durables, advertising.

- Deep understanding of the retail and wholesale landscape in India with prior interactions with sellers and distributors.

- Experience selling nascent (embryonic/start-up) products/services into new markets.

- Experience in defining new processes.
