Education & Relevant Experience:

- 15+ years of work experience in IT and application development domain

- 3+ years of experience in leading application development/ solutions delivery domain for a large business

- Basic understanding of payments industry and associated technology infrastructure and concepts

- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards for technology applications in the payments industry

- Must have extensive knowledge to of application development lifecycle (design, architecture, coding, testing, implementation, updation, enhancements etc.)

- Basic understanding of technological infrastructure involved in digital products/ platforms

Job Role:

- Drive successful development of all applications at NPCI to deliver new age payment products/platforms as well as solutions for internal usage, enable change management initiatives leveraging cutting edge latest development platforms and integration of new applications into NPCIs current landscape while maintaining alignment with the common enterprise architecture.

Job Responsibility:

- Provide subject matter expertise on Application Development to NPCI leadership on related areas to facilitate the achievement of NPCI business objectives

- Direct the process of monitoring the vendor deliverables to ensure they are up to the desired standards and within the agreed timelines and budgets

- Take responsibility of providing the technical decisions needed for modifications, changes or improvements to be made to existing IT applications, to ensure continuous leveraging of the services offered by third party

- Direct the process that ensures appropriate corporate, industry, national and international service standards adherence to provide best-in class application development services within Indian Payments ecosystem

- Lead the development of the High-Level Design (HLD) of the service corresponding to the business requirement, including the system architecture and database design, the relations between modules and functions of the system, the data flow, flow charts and data structures, to implement the system as per the requirements and needs of the organization

- Lead the process of obtaining necessary approvals for the service design developed, to ensure full compliance with internal and external requirements, rules, and regulations, if applicable

- Direct the running of the system testing, performance testing and compliance testing to validate solution functionalities in an efficient manner

- Govern the interactions with different stakeholders during testing activities including the project managers, to encourage optimising cooperation on the requirements and expected outcomes

- Encourage continuous research and assessment of opportunities for automation of testing, to support the improvement of technology and innovation within NPCI

- Govern the process of interfacing with Technology Run teams around design queries and defect resolutions, to ensure effective communication and implementation of changes, modifications, and improvements

- Manage the identification of integration points and interfaces with other applications, systems, data, and support system (solution) integration within existing technology landscape, to ensure full support to Technology Run teams.

- Continuously drive capability building in the team through mentoring and trainings to ensure that team skills are upto date with latest changes in the industry

- Map team's competencies to role requirements to map right people with right jobs
