National Credit Manager - Bank

The role is to lead underwriting team for both secured and unsecured business loans to the self employed segment including underwriting digital and supply chain financing products and overall portfolio monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

- Appraising proposals for MSME financing - Secured/Unsecured/Supply chain finance proposals sourced through own branches and digital channels.

- Understanding credit worthiness of customer along with intention to repay the loan by analysis of all documents, observation & findings of PD.

- Deploy credit policy which is aligned with business strategy and targeted customer segment.

- Develop various underwriting models using alternate data through AI/ML and build scorecards.

- Study, analysis, and interpretation of legal & technical reports of property and other internal check

reports.

- Continuously improvise underwriting capability based on portfolio performance

- Actively partner with business heads and structure/arrive at customized solutions,

- Effectively manage & upskill the credit teams along with allocation of workload

- Close monitoring on non-starters/first EMI bounce trends

- Audit compliance on all aspects stipulated by Head Office and regulatory compliance

- Maintaining and reporting of various MIS to monitor portfolio performance and risk monitoring of loan accounts.

- Fulfilling the credit training needs of entire business and credit team on a continued timely basis

- Leading, mentoring monitoring the performance of the team members to ensure efficiency in process and operations.

- Creating and sustaining a dynamic environment that fosters development opportunities and motivates high performance among team members.

- Work directly with the founders in setting up overall business vision

Desired Skill and Experience

- Work experience of 10-15 years in Credit Underwriting in LAP/Mortgage/Unsecured Loans.

- Qualifications: CA/MBA

- Good understanding of Accounting Standards, Balance Sheet Analysis, GST Analysis etc.

- In-depth knowledge of Financial Credit Risk analysis, Risk (credit / investment, operational, others) identification and mitigation skills

- Knowledge and experience of having dealt in Banking products and procedures, Documentation

- Ability to understand economic / industry cycles

- Analysis of annual reports and cash flow statements

- Excellent communication skills - verbal, and written (including report writing)
