Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages legal business matters pertaining to the organization. Will provide a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services to a number of in-house and outside clients.
- Ensure organizational compliance with contracts and applicable law and regulation, such as lobbying, regulatory and public policy matters and laws
- Advise on risk management practice, liability, and insurance matters
- Advise on Board governance documents and governance issues, preparing materials for Board and committee meetings.
- Monitor and advice on legislative developments related to non-profit organizations, including human resources and benefits-related legislation.
- Assist on special projects with the CFO and other members of the executive team.
- Supervise and lead our legal and compliance department, ensuring the proper implementation of all compliance programs and procedures
- Stay informed on any changes or additions to laws and industry regulations that affect our operations
- Organize presentations, meetings, and compliance seminars to promote better awareness of compliance protocols and external requirements in our industry
- Giving legal advice, opinion and legal support to the business teams
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- CS and LLB
- Five or more years of experience practicing law in law firm or in any BFSI
- Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, research and oral and written communication skills
- Ability to provide sound legal advice, develop creative solutions, and exercise sound business judgment
- Ability and willingness to handle multiple assignments, meet deadlines and pay strong attention to detail
- Well versed in banking, financial and corporate laws
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
