As Category Manager, the role-bearer will act as an owner of his/her assigned Categories and will be responsible for supporting the growth of business in the same.
- Responsible for driving the P&L for the assigned Categories.
- Responsible for pricing and demand generation. This includes working with other members on the Category management team to come up with innovative promotions and site features to improve customer experience.
- Identify & Utilize opportunities for horizontal & vertical expansion of Vendor offerings
- Act as a Business advisor to Vendors/Suppliers.
- Responsible for the GMV related to the assigned category.
- Drive content for the assigned Category
- Drive Innovation in the assigned Category & influence Customer
- Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the category, including gathering and addressing customer feedback & business improvement initiatives.
- Should develop deep knowledge of supply/ demand trends and success drivers.
- Support the execution of technical integration with suppliers and support projects to more efficiently source stock and assimilate vendor catalogs
- Identify & empanel Vendors/Suppliers offering a variety of products & services for the assigned categories.
- Act as an ambassador of msupply.com to the Vendors/Suppliers promoting goodwill and a mutually beneficial relationship.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- MBA from premier institutes viz IIM, XLRI, etc
- 2-7 years post qualification experience
- Experience in managing P&L for locations / Products / Product lines
- Exposure to and flair for Sales & Marketing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with Vendors/Suppliers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Should possess an analytical mind capable of solving complex problems.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
