POSITION OVERVIEW:

The MSCI Global Product Management team is composed of experienced financial professionals who are responsible for not only launching new MSCI index products but also providing support to existing product offering (e.g. licensing; pricing). Currently, the Global Product Management team is present in the following locations: London, New York, Budapest, and Mumbai.

The Global Product Manager, who will report to a New York based manager, will be held accountable on the revenue growth, market share and P&L of a given line of data subscription products.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

This role involves proactive and reactive product management and product support for our index subscription products. Responsibilities include:

Primary responsibility for:

- Defining the business strategy (target group definition, product, pricing, distribution channels) of new business / data product lines; and

- Driving the in-market execution (setting goals; providing sales support material) of new data products

- Collaborating with other functional groups – Research, Data Management, and IT – to define product requirements, resolve product issues, and deliver new products and/or enhancements

- Leading ad hoc cross-functional projects to improve product offering

- Preparing written training material and delivering internal training presentations

- Participating in numerous client consultations to understand client needs and/or product enhancements opportunities

- Providing input into the product roadmap

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

To be successful in the role, one must:

- Be able to prioritize effectively and work under time constraints

- 10+ years of relevant industry experience in financial services or technology

- Understanding of the equity investment management process

- Knowledge of product management processes and demonstrated ownership of product through full development lifecycle

- Knowledge and understanding of portfolio construction and financial assets

- Strong quantitative background

- Superior written and verbal communications

- Excel at working independently to identify and resolve user problems

- Leverage and influence cross-functional team members with specialist skills

- Communicate effectively to audiences having differing levels of domain expertise

- Have well-developed problem solving skills and attention to detail

- Demonstration of increasing levels of initiative and responsibility in current role

- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or equivalent experience required

- MS or MBA in finance, financial engineering, economics, statistics, or other quantitative fields a plus

- CFA or FRM designations (or participation in the programs) viewed very favorably

- Client Experience

- Experience in a consulting or client facing environment providing customer support, integration, and implementation services

- Strong servicing mindset

- Past experience serving external financial institute clients is required

- Possible background includes Product/Project Management role at either Asset Management firms or third party vendor platforms that cater services to financial institutions
