About the Team

The pursuit of excellence at Morningstar is deeply ingrained in our culture and a key part of the value we bring to our clients. Market Insights and Analytics team is part of India Growth and Innovation Hub that supports global businesses and functions. Members of Market Insights and Analytics team will work on gathering market intelligence, collating metrics data from teams across India offices, developing analytical dashboards and generating insights to assist Leaders in decision making and managing teams using metrics.

The Role:

- Manager / Assistant Manager on the team leads gathering of external market intelligence, conducting critical analysis and provides data support for all aspects across the India Growth and Innovation Hub. The role uses internal and external data to figure out trends, perform critical analysis and build data visualizations for leaders in the India Growth and Innovation Hub.

- The role will conduct thorough data analysis, help design and implement analytics programs, generate reports, and collaborate with various teams to ensure we are optimizing our resources and maximizing our output. The Manager / Assistant Manager works closely with business and IT team to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions.

- We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and an eye for detail to lead the Market Insights and Analytics efforts in the India Growth and Innovation Hub.

Responsibilities:

- Lead efforts on developing industry / function-specific market insights and generating analytical outputs (documents and dashboards) by collating both internal and external data and information

- Understand, manage, and deliver on research based on set expectations and requirements. Analyze and synthesize research results to develop key insights.

- Build relationships, collaborate with team members & stakeholders and manage all aspects of assigned projects

- Work closely with NASSCOM, FICCI and other industry bodies for conducting trend sensing and synthesizing research to anticipate marketplace shifts, impact on our operations/employees etc.

- Work with a range of data and reporting technologies like SQL, Tableau and Power BI to help build, maintain and manage dashboards to power analytics for data-driven decision making

- Design and maintain SQL views, Power BI datasets, workspaces and reporting structures used to compile insights

- Build executive level reporting that displays complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner

- Interpret and analyze data from multiple sources, spot trends/anomalies/outliers, synthesize raw data and create models to test hypotheses

- Provide design leadership for development of business intelligence solutions, build an in-depth understanding of the business, and serve as the primary owner of new report requests

- Interpret business requirements and determines optimum BI solutions to meet business needs

- Own reporting for daily, weekly and monthly business metrics, and the responsibility to communicate results and make recommendations to senior management

- Trains users and executives to use reports, metrics and action-oriented information correctly

Qualifications:

- 8+ years of relevant experience across research, reporting, benchmarking, strategic analysis, business intelligence dashboard development

- Bachelor's degree from STEM fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Analytics, etc. Specialized training/certification and Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration will be an advantage.

- Good understanding of business issues, ability to develop and analyze business cases, translate data into convincing information

- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and prioritize activities

- Ability to work with a range of data and reporting technologies to build upon a strong foundation of rigor, quantitative techniques and efficient processing

- Excellent analytical thinking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex data issues correctly and clearly to both local and global leaders / teams

- Attention to detail, self-motivated and a good leader & team player, preferably with experience working in virtual teams

- Strong MS Office skills (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

- Experience with BI/data visualization software programs such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI

- Intermediate SQL skills a necessity and advanced SQL preferred, with experience querying large datasets from multiple sources and developing automated reporting

- R and/or Python skills for scripting, data manipulation, custom ETLs, statistical analysis will be an advantage
