Department Profile

The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.

Morgan Stanley is seeking a strong candidate for a role on Mumbai Regulatory Reporting team. Candidate must be able to support Regulatory Reporting System Maintenance and Change Control Management responsibilities.

Candidate will need to interact internally with various report owners and System users to update report mapping, resolve reporting system issues, log unresolved issues, and participate in related UAT to confirm issue resolution. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Maintenance- Communication, Coordination, Analysis

- Adhoc questions/request from Users/Report owners

- Coordinate with RegAsg/Axiomasg on user issues

- Explain/walk RegASG/Axiomasg issues encountered by users

- Support report owners on filing/submission of report ( i.e. Test submission, edit errors encountered upon submission)

- Lead bi-weekly mtg with Report Owners

Change Control Management- Documentation & Analysis/ Testing, Production, Promotion

- Enter/assist users in QC creation for change request

- Update Axiom mapping spreadsheet (in SP) to document mapping and ownership change for Y9C, 041 & FR 2900

- Review QC to ensure complete business requirements prior to IT hand-off

- Re-test QC and/or coordinate QC testing with data providers/report owners in UAT

- Axiom Release Notes testing in UAT

- Adhoc testing on special roll-outs (e.g. Controller view Upgrade, Regression testing on DSL implementation)

- Obtain approval from Report Owners on UAT changes for production migration

- Validate QC changes fro Production Check-out

- Participate in weekly mtgs with Reg IT on QC prioritization

- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years relevant Regulatory Reporting work experience.

- Regulatory Capital knowledge and Axiom experience a plus

- Experience executing UAT including issue identification and resolution.

- Ability to manage people, be highly self-motivated and promote teamwork.

- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills including the ability to renovate existing processes.

- Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to interact well with others at all levels.

- Ability to handle and resolve recurring challenges and problems
