IFMR Capital (earlier IFMR Trust Guarantee Company) is structured as a registered non-banking financial company (NBFC) based in Chennai. IFMR Capital's mission is to act as a bridge to mainstream capital markets for entities and asset classes of relevance to low-income households such as microfinance, enterprise lending and agricultural commodity backed financing.

It aims to reduce the cost of capital for the end borrower by developing access to debt capital markets, creating transparent criteria for evaluation of these new asset classes and using sophisticated financial structuring tools to generate high quality assets leading to price discovery, liquidity and growth in these new markets.

Position: Monitoring officer

Job Description:-

- Pre-investment due diligence: Providing need-based support to the due diligence teams of different lenders/investors (under IFMR Trust umbrella and outside).

- Post-investment monitoring: Providing need-based support to lenders/investors by periodic monitoring of MFI operations, post investment in these MFIs and reporting on any warning signals or signs of deterioration in quality of operations.

- Identifying gaps: Visiting invested MFIs and working with MFI top management and operations team to identify weak areas and gaps in the operations of the MFI. These weaknesses may be in corporate governance, quality of field operations, human resources, MIS, monitoring and control systems or financial health of the MFI.

- Action plan: In case of weak areas identified, advises IFMR Management on possible avenues to overcome the weak areas as recommendations.

- Follow-up: Periodic visits to the invested MFI post identification of weak areas implementation, to assess if the identified weak areas/gaps have been actioned on and not crept up again.

Reports to: Head of Monitoring Team

Qualifications and Experience: MBA from a reputed institution 7 to 8 years of Micro Finance Institution operations or bank or rating agency experience essential.

Place of Posting: Chennai with extensive travel
