Position Title : Shopper Insights Lead - India, Middle East, Africa Reports To : Global Shopper Insights COE Lead Level/ Grade : Manager Grade Industry to be tapped : FMCG only Purpose of Role : - The role of Shopper Insights is to drive growth and business results by embedding shopping understanding into the organization and providing actionable insights that support our people centric strategies and actions, and said in other words, - to inspire growth by connecting with people. - The SI Mgr. is a key business and strategic partner to: Sales, Trade marketing and Marketing country teams. This role is responsible for developing and leveraging shopping and retail environment in-depth understanding into category, retail, and customer strategies and recommendations, with shared accountability for growth and delivery of business results. - The role is jointly with the CIS category manager responsible for linkage to ensure shopping is integrated into category plans and programs. In addition the role is jointly with CIS country manager responsible for elevation of the shopper agenda and the focus of this agenda on commercial requirements in BU. Main Responsibilities : - Understand the shopping and retail landscape overall and specific retail/customer environments through analysis of shopper dynamics, retailer information, culture and trends - Support the situation analysis including retailer/channel and shopping trends cross category which shapes the agenda of AC & SP - Understand the complete shopping journey (before / in-store / after) to increase understanding between categories and snacking, and support the identification of growth opportunities. - Guide business decisions by building insights in areas such as optimal retail execution by retail environment, Hot Zone optimization, cross-category snacking understanding, and category vision/strategy for strategic customers - Work closely with CI, Marketing, Sales and Trade Marketing to ensure increased understanding and awareness of shopper insight, to ensure that holistic (connecting with people) thinking is applied to key initiatives and plans - Evaluate impact of execution against strategy in order to learn, correct, and drive continuous improvement - Identify shopping knowledge/information gaps through understanding commercial business priorities, to create prioritized Insights project plan - Collaborate with Analytics team to leverage analytic tools (modelling and forecasting) to give guidance on strategies and tactics. Specifically support Revenue Management strategy and support analysis of sales performance, ROI understanding of in-store initiatives, scenario planning - Monitor market dynamics (sales, shopper and consumer trends) to identify opportunities / problems / risks and recommend appropriate actions - Lead and motivate direct reports. Develop talent through providing - on the job- coaching and guidance - Communicate all learning and insight in a compelling way to drive action Qualification : - Min. Bachelor's Degree (Social Science, Business Administration, Marketing preferred). MBA (Premier B-School) or MA in Social Science with concentration on research, marketing, quantitative analysis Experience : - Strong shopper insights background (6+yrs experience) - Prior Shopper or Consumer Insight experience in FMCG/CPG preferred - Experience leading teams - Experience working across markets - In-depth knowledge of retail environments - History developing effective category and retailer strategies
