Category Manager (Leading B2B E-Com/Noida) - Top B school
The role is largely to handle the one or a cluster of 2-3 categories from getting supplier partners, business partners, closing deals for a long term and short term mutually fruitful business relationship maintaining a healthy account management to developing the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) for the assigned categories applying strong analytical approach into online sales of the category products.
The primary job responsibilities can be summed up as follows :
Market Research on Business prospects & Lead generation :
- Researching and carrying out due diligence/market study to understand and identify the prospective supplier/client partners
- Mapping the zones/clusters for suitable prospects exploration
- Carrying out business intelligence exercise to mine useful data/info about the prospects
Planning and preparing the partnership proposal :
- Planning the right approach to reach out to the prospects through various channels - calls, mailers, social media etc.
- Planning the right communication content and channel strategy
- Maximizing the conversion in the planning and preparation stage
Implementation and conversion of leads into business partnerships :
- Implementing the right communication strategy in converting the lead
- Presentations by visit, if required to ensure right business relationship is built up
- Guiding the partner through the internal process of listing on our platform
Account Management :
- Maintaining a healthy business relationship with the key partners as key accounts
- Ensuring all operational and issues are resolved in the process of partnership
- Maintaining right communication to the partners from time to time through various channels and occasions
Category growth Planning & Implementation :
- Daily/weekly/monthly planning and execution for GMV growth, assortment growth, Supplier base expansion
- Developing and aligning category team to achieve the category growth metrics
- Tracking category metrics regularly to take necessary actions coordinating with marketing team, analytics team, Product Operations team, Product & technology team
- Regular competition tracking to achieve more market share and maintain the top rank
- Category metrics reporting regularly to category Head/Top management
Desired candidate background :
- Post Graduate in Management / MBA from premier institutes only in Sales & Marketing
- 1 / 2 years of relevant sales experience (preferably in B2B corporate sales/Engineering/manufacturing/Hi-tech) with traveling experience
- Fresher welcome
- Excellent analytical and presentation skill (Excel/PPT)
- Highly motivated and sales oriented with go-getter and never give-up attitude
- Outgoing, inclined to socializing, networking in business events, professional set up
- Excellent communications & presentation skill (both Written / Verbal)
- Excellent analytical skill and proficiency in Spreadsheet working
- Multi-tasking with skills in Marketing, Brand development, agency relations, external communications expertise
- Proven track record of leadership in college/university and professional organization
- Willingness and interest in working a start-up environment
- Inclination toward streamlining and simplifying process, setting up business process
