Job Description - Data Scientist

Objective : Utilize the analytical applications that help identify trends and relationships from the unstructured data, draw appropriate conclusions and translate analytical findings into solutions that drive business to take strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.

Experimenting with algorithms, machine learning, evaluating and comparing metrics and patterns, deploying models, defining model training and test strategies and iteratively improving the solution.

Work with data from diverse structured and unstructured data sources in various formats including tabular, images, audio, text and time series.

Processing of data, performing analyses and modeling to final reports/presentations, communication of results and implementation support.

Proactively and effectively communicates in various verbal and written formats with internal stakeholders on product design, data specification, model implementations.

Assures compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements during design and implementation of modeling and analysis projects.

Skills:

Must have a master's degree in operations research, applied statistics, machine learning or a related quantitative discipline.

Must have a deep understanding of 2 or 3 machine learning modelling concepts such a Regression, Clustering, Bayesian Nets, Decision Trees, Recommender System etc.

2 - 3 years of experience in developing machine learning models.

Experience in healthcare and insurance domain is strongly desired.

Experience in Big Data/HADOOP - HIVE/PIG, Spark/Scala.

Pattern Mining/Detection - Ability to handle large, unstructured and time-varying data.

Strong Programming Capability on Python/R and Java/MapR. Ability to use packages in Python/R.

Expertise in Deep Learning and Neural Networks, Graphs/Bayesian algorithms.

Expertise in Machine Learning Classifiers - Bagging and Boosting learners.

Text Analytics - Ability to synthesize unstructured data and find actionable themes/insights - deep expertise in SPSS/Related Tools.

Comfortable with relational and non-relational databases.
