Microsoft - Program Manager II

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and highly motivated lead program manager who shares our vision of making diagraming simple for users. The successful candidate will possess great analytical skills, will be comfortable working in cross group environment and will have a passion for customer satisfaction. He/ She will be responsible creating very detailed specifications for newly conceived ideas, validating them with potential customers, relentlessly refining the designs based on the insights and taking the features through the engineering cycle, as well as making sure that we ship a top-quality product which customers would love. You will also be responsible for managing cross team dependencies, customer connect and working closely with our partners.

The responsibilities include:

- Analyzing the diagramming needs of Information Workers.

- Developing a framework for evaluating potential solutions to the identified needs.

- Working with Designers, Developers and Testers to come up with various design alternatives.

- Creating detailed specifications for the engineering team that captures the proposed design.

- Participating in customer meetings and User research to drive insights on the existing or proposed designs.

- Helping the Engineering team with project management and issues tracking.

- Accurately reporting status of the project and proactively make plans to mitigate any risks.

- Doing anything and everything that helps realize our vision.

Desired skills:

- Advanced Analytical Skills

- Driving clarity out of an ambiguous problem statement

- User Interface design with appreciation for visual design

Qualifications:

- BE/ BTech with 10+ years of Business analyst/ Program Management experience

- Exposure to atleast one complete cycle of project inception through delivery

- High comfort level with data analysis, data modeling and RDBMS

- Degree in Computer Science, prior programming experience, exposure to agile framework and a business degree are definite pluses.

- 10+ years of experience

- The ability to analyze products and effectively communicate and write functional specifications

- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and negotiation skills with cross-functional organizations, customers and upper level management

- Motivated to work with and leverage internationally distributed development teams

- Self-driven mindset, possess a high energy level to react to situations quickly and decisively, possessing self-confidence to be assertive when taking a position, not afraid to make decisions.

- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a MBA from premier business schools is preferred
