Messilat - Infrastructure Capacity Planning Engineer

Responsibilities:

As an Infrastructure Capacity Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the capacity planning of various components within our infrastructure, spanning systems, databases, middleware, storage, backup, network devices, and security governance. This role encompasses both existing production environments and upcoming projects. Key responsibilities include:

Apply an integrated approach to plan and implement capacity requirements, collaborating with solution specialists and subject matter experts.

Analyze capacity needs for our services, planning and executing strategies to meet defined requirements.

- Define and document capacity thresholds, track and report capacity for business-critical services, and recommend capacity optimization initiatives.

- Collaborate with technical towers for post-incident investigations related to capacity issues, responding to audit matters concerning IT Capacity Management.

- Propose and drive capacity right-sizing initiatives, upgrades, and technology refresh programs.

- Define and enforce service quality standards for all providers, evaluating them against our criteria and selecting those that meet our standards.

- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all infrastructure resources and associated contracts/licenses.

- Support server resource deployment, migration, and other demands, including scrapping, reconfiguration, and relocation.

- Manage risk levels within acceptable parameters as defined in the Datacenter, cloud, infrastructure provider, and server security risk categorization system.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience in capacity planning for complex infrastructure environments, including systems, databases, storage, and networks.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment is highly desirable.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in capacity planning and infrastructure management.

- Familiarity with tools and methodologies for capacity planning and optimization.
