Meril Group - Head - Internal Auditor/Head- Direct Tax/ Head-Treasury

As part of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Head of Internal Audit / Direct Tax - Head / Treasury head handles the financial management of the organization

- Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs / Internal Audit / Treasury head of the organization and liaising with the external tax firm for specialist advice

- Oversee the execution of internal audit defined in the audit plan ensuring the highest level of service quality and professionalism.

- Assess the company's processes for identifying and managing business / enterprise risk and delivering organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

- Evaluate internal control measures and make recommendations on how to improve it.

- Issue Internal Audit reports ensuring the reports are clear, concise, identify root causes with practical solutions, and ultimately provide value to management.

- Update/develop process documentation to support mitigating the risks, compliance and effective internal control.

- Providing sound support and insights to make critical business decisions

- Managing and overseeing Direct Taxation and liaising with authorities/external agencies/cross functional team/Statutory & Internal Auditors.

- Representing audits, assessments, tax audits, appeals and other related matters for group of legal entities before Tax Assessment & Appellate Authorities,

- Obtaining transfer pricing study / reports for International & Domestic Transfer Pricing transactions in close coordination with business team; responsible for Tax audit by auditors, Income Tax declarations, Transfer pricing declaration, Master file compliances.

- Managing withholding tax compliance for domestic & international transactions including analysis of Tax treaties, PE risk assessments, monitoring of payment of monthly tax liability, Quarterly TDS returns, and issuance of certificates

- Play a vital role in complex tax calculations/ documentation for strategic projects like buyback, slump sale, demergers, capital gains, capital investments allowances, review of contracts, etc.

- Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the company and ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls

- Managing and overseeing the company's banking and borrowing arrangements & day to day treasury with optimal cost of fund.

- Managing and overseeing liaising with banks and rating agencies

- Managing hedging and foreign currencies

- Having exposure in arranging the funding in foreign subsidiary

- Managing Efficiently RBI, Banking and other compliances
