Job purpose  Working with the support of the director & partners, you will have the responsibility for our Deals Strategy work in the Power & Regulatory sector.   Required Skills  Detailed knowledge of the Indian Power & Regulatory sector, including its commercial, technological and regulatory drivers  At least 6-9 years of experience with minimum 3 years in a reputed consulting firm  Demonstrable industry network (ability to maintain/develop your own client relationships) and experience in strategy consulting selling  Analytical and project management skills including the ability to run strategy and deals related projects (including more than one project at a time), coaching more junior team members and liaising with/presenting to clients  An ability to multi-task effectively and balance time between project delivery and business development support effectively  Excel and Access based Financial Modeling  Develop Understanding of Policies and their qualitative and financial impact  Duties and responsibilities  The candidate is expected to have prior experience in and perform and deliver services in the following:  1. POLICY & REGULATION  A. Energy Markets & Policy Design  Energy sector restructuring and markets design   Private sector participation processes design and implementation  PPAs and other commercial instruments / contracts design and trading support   B. Economic Analysis & Regulation  Policy, regulatory and institutional design for policy and regulatory authorities   Tariffs design and support in tariff revision processes for public and private agents   Disputes and litigation services   Energy procurement assistance to big energy consumers  Price analysis and consumption optimization   Project appraisal   Economic impact studies   2. MARKET SIMULATION & BUSINESS STRATEGY  A. System & Market Analysis, Modelling  The candidate will be expected to perform the following:  Expansion planning  Operational planning  Dispatch & techno-economic modelling  Analysis of electricity generation markets and transmission systems  Technical regulation issues in electricity generation markets  B. Sustainable Development  The candidate should have prior experience in and should be able to deliver services related to policy, regulatory, institutional and strategic issues on carbon markets design and functioning, energy efficiency and renewable energy promotion, as well as technical, economic, environmental and social impact analysis related to issues like renewable energy, energy efficiency, national policies, pricing and trading strategies etc.   3. NETWORK INDUSTRIES  A. Technical Analysis & Regulation  Technical and economic feasibility studies   Assets valuation and CAPEX assessment   Renewable energy generation grid integration  B. Utility Management Support  Risk assessment and mitigation strategies   Commercial, technical and financial appraisals   Benchmarking analysis and performance improvement   Strategic plans for optimizing company performance   Non-Technical Loss Reduction  4. PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONSULTANCY  Integrated project coordination & management  Detail implementation schedule including expenditures planning   Location and technical feasibility studies   Preparation of EPC, tender documentation and O&M contract  Supervision   Working conditions / Location  The base location would be New Delhi in the first instance.
