Mercados EMI - Chief Software Architect - Enterprise SaaS

Job Purpose: As the Chief Software Architect, you shall be responsible for the design, development and implementation of the software architecture for our existing and new products based on emerging requirements of our Clients. You shall work with the engineering team to ensure that the software architecture meets the expected requirements of the product/user, is scalable, and is able to be integrate with other systems of Clients and can be expanded for new product lines. You will also be responsible for the performance of the software architecture and for ensuring that the software meets the quality standards adopted by the company. Besides, you will be responsible for the security of the software architecture and for ensuring that the architecture is able to be used by other companies in the future.

Job Responsibilities :

- Understand Client Requirements and ability to make scope documents encompassing the business use case

- Translate business needs and requirements into technical requirements for software applications

- Define and document application architecture and design including creation of overall project plans and progress trackers

- Coach and mentor software engineers, programmers, and other team members for development of required solutions

- Create and maintain design and code standards

- Serve as a technical liaison among project managers, developers, and stakeholders

- Communicate, and enforce the company software architecture strategy

- Manage the design, development, and implementation of software solutions including UATs

- Guide the software development process through high-level decision making

- Analyze power markets and business trends, and develop strategy to grow market share through strategically positioned products

- Lead research and analysis of technology and competitor trends to develop strategy and roadmap to lead product offerings in power markets.

Education and Experience :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field (master's degree preferred).

- 15+ years of experience as a senior engineering leader overseeing architecture and engineering for enterprise-wide technology platforms and leading SaaS technology platforms including 10+ years of client facing roles.

- Broad knowledge of software engineering: languages, frameworks, techniques, and industry trends.

- Leadership and strategic thinking abilities with a problem-solving aptitude.

- Strong communication and presentation ability to convey technical topics in easy-to-understand business terms and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Technical Skills :

- Technical Architecture and Solution Design: Strong command of technical architecture principles and solution design methodologies for both front end as also back end development. Capable of creating scalable, robust, and secure software systems that address the unique challenges of the power market industry.

- Data Management: Proficiency in working with big data analytics, No-SQL and relational databases for effective data management. The candidate should also have expertise in data integration, data cleansing and data quality assurance.

- Software Development Expertise: Extensive experience in software development, including designing, implementing, and deploying complex software solutions tailored to the specific needs of power market companies. Proficiency in programming languages, databases and software development methodologies is essential.

Additional Skills :

Candidates having the following experience will have a priority:

- The candidate should have experience in quantitative analysis, including power market modelling, data sciences, and financial acumen. The candidate should be skilled in predictive analytics, forecasting, and optimization using techniques such as MILP/NLP.

- Power Market Analysis: Experience in power market analysis and outlook, including production cost modelling, scenario analysis, dispatch modelling, power price forecasting, demand forecasting.
