Menterra - Investment Associate

Menterra has built a diverse team with stellar investing and operating experience. Its fund activities cover investing, operating, finance and impact domains. Investment function is core to all activities. It provides an opportunity to work with some of the most ambitious entrepreneurs.

Associates focus on Research led Origination and Underwriting and at times lead specific investments under supervision of a Principal or Partner.

Key Responsibilities:

Research-led origination:

- Conduct detailed sector research

- Co-author thought leadership reports.

- Develop themes that will address big problems in the target sectors

- Identify investment targets with focus on research led origination.

- Work with partners to develop investment targets.

- Manage the deal pipeline and market intelligence.

Underwriting:

- Conduct comprehensive diligence

- Underwrite business plan

- Prepare proposals for investment committee approval.

- Manage the deal closure.

Portfolio management:

- Prepare the company for detailed investor reporting

- Manage monthly reporting

- Support the fund nominee to effectively carry the board responsibilities.

- Manage competitive benchmarking.

Exit management:

- Support the risk management activities

- Prepare the company for exits.

Does this Sound Like You?

Must Haves:

- 5+ years of relevant experience comprising of advanced financial and business modeling skills, and advanced research and analytical skills.

- Prior experience in the agriculture and/or healthcare sectors.

- In-depth experience in research-led origination, underwriting, portfolio management, exit management.

Preferred:

- Prior experience in start-up investment.

- Demonstrated commitment to building a career in the for-profit impact investment space.

- Team management experience.
