Mineral Enterprise Limited (MEL) is a scientific mining company with assets in Iron, Manganese, and Zircon. Its operations are primarily based out of Karnataka (Bangalore) with offices in Singapore and Indonesia. MEL has been in the mining business for over four decades and has invested substantially in mining technology and R&D capability. It is one of the few mining companies which is SAP enabled and all financial and procurement transactions are managed through SAP systems. In addition to mining, MEL also has interests in Iron Ore Trading, Infrastructure, Logistics and Real Estate.

MEL has recently initiated a business transformation journey with the intent to move up the mining value chain and become an integrated mining and manufacturing company. It is poised to make significant investments to build capability in the mining - manufacturing value chain (beneficiation, pellet and steel). It is currently in the processes of finalizing the strategic investment plans. MEL is also looking to build a strong, professional leadership team, which can take charge of this transformation and build the organization of the future. The leadership team will have the freedom to drive execution and decisions for their respective functions.

Job Responsibilities & Challenges:

General:

- Knowledge of overall integrated steel making process w.r.t. process routes, technology, operation, final products and also capital cost estimations.

- Awareness on latest technology developing at various stages of integrated steel making process.

- Plant operation and R & D experience particularly in the area of iron making.

- Knowledge on characteristics of key raw materials.

- Identification of suitable/economical process for the given raw material quality.

- Able to analyse the process w.r.t. variable raw material quality and other variables at each stage of integrated steel making process.

- Knowledge on new product development

Qualifications:

Education: B.E/B.Tech in Metallurgy/Steel Making/Mining from reputed college

Experience: 4 to 6 years of relevant experience

General skills required:

- Excellent Analytical Skills

- Good R&D and Research Experience

- Good Communication Skills
