Meesho has so far enabled more than 50 thousand suppliers and 7 million entrepreneurs to start and grow their online business without any investment, providing tools around sourcing, logistics and payments. These entrepreneurs are small retailers, housewives, students, retired citizens, and many other aspiring entrepreneurs across India. Meesho is Series D funded with a new investment round led by South African company Prosus (Naspers Ventures) along with participation from Facebook and existing investors such as Elevation (SAIF), Sequoia, Shunwei Capital, RPS and Venture Highway. Meesho is headquartered in Bengaluru, India and was one of the three Indian companies to be selected for Y Combinator in 2016. It was also a part of the first batch of Google Launchpad - Solve for India programme Farmiso: - Grocery has the biggest share of the overall retail spend in India and is projected to be a $800B market in 2024, of which the majority contribution comes from non-metro cities. Grocery market in Metro and Tier 1 has become crowded with a lot of players trying to solve the supply chain but the higher cost of logistics restricts these players to disrupt the lower tiers. - At Farmiso, we are building the most cost-effective distribution channel using micro entrepreneurs to disrupt the grocery market in lower tier cities of India. We are onto the journey of creating a hyperlocal farmer marketplace for fresh food and vegetables and solve the intermediate inefficiencies in the distribution system. - Farmiso is an early stage mini start-up within Meesho with a completely different supply chain and modus operandi. We are a bunch of high energy enthusiasts working towards creating something cool and something big. Job Brief: - We are looking to onboard an extremely enthusiastic Quality Head for one of our highest growth verticals, Farmiso, who will heading the quality department for Fruits and Vegetables The ideal candidate should: Have a strong knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance of fresh fruits and vegetables and have a good knowledge in the field of agriculture. Specific duties include, but are not limited to : - Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications - Ensuring that farm produce (fruits and vegetables) comply with market standards - Specifying quality requirements of fresh produce with the farmers - Investigating and setting standards for 'Quality' - Working with operating staff to establish procedures, standards and systems - Assessing customer requirements and ensuring that these are met by setting customer service standards - Providing guidance vendors/sellers to ensure good quality of the produce Job Requirements : - Degree in Agriculture Management or any related field is a MUST. - Knowledge of post-harvest management of agriculture produce. - Minimum 8 years of work experience in the same capacity related to fresh fruits and vegetables. - Should be passionate about the field of agriculture and should have an urge for learning. - Proven ability to work independently, in a team-oriented environment and achieve results. - Good communication skills. - Experience in working with a start-up is a definite advantage. - Quality Control in fresh fruits and vegetables: 5 years (Required)
