A leader who can strategise & scale by empowering other designers in the team. As a design leader, you will :
- Mentor, motivate & provide direction to a team of Product & Visual designers.
- Advocate Meesho's values & design principles across the organisation.
- Help elevate Meesho's Design community, culture, and processes.
- Think of the bigger picture, have a holistic view while also diving deep when required.
- Influence design decisions across the organization by earning the trust of your stakeholders. Effectively use quantitative & qualitative data to drive decisions & measure success.
- Be comfortable with ambiguity but use your expertise to build processes that will help create structure and drive excellence and efficiency to help designers accomplish more than they could otherwise.
- Define design roadmap, align team priorities and deliverables to the company's overall strategic goals.
- Plan & manage the growth & development of your team members, while always inspiring them to push boundaries.
- Define KRA's & goals for the team and individuals.
- Drive collaboration of designers with their Product, Engineering, Research, Data and Business counterparts.
- Communicate priorities and key design decisions with stakeholders with your excellent verbal, written & visual communication skill.
What you'll bring to the team
- 6+ years of design experience with at least 1+ years in leading teams.
- At Least 4years in a product company. Experience with startups and fast-paced environments is an added advantage.
- Demonstrate quick career progression either within the same company or across companies.
- Deep understanding of business and customers.
- Application of customer feedback and research to the design process.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholder management.
- Used qualitative and quantitative data on consumer insights to extract the underlying user needs, and then driving problems to solutions and opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate design and articulate decisions clearly and concisely to various audiences.
- A strong portfolio of innovative design work that demonstrates industry-leading design and business success.
- Ability to hire, develop, and manage UX designers, Visual Designer & UX Writers.
- Proven skills in designing and developing simple to complex products. Experience in designing large-scale products in the e-commerce space will be a huge advantage.
