Reporting to our Head of Marketing, the SEO Strategist will own SEO for the company and regularly report to our CEO with a goal to 10x our organic traffic in 2022, grow our content pipeline, and develop a broader digital marketing role covering SEM.

What You'll Do :

- Own SEO across the entire company

- First 30 days, conduct an SEO audit/competitive analysis and provide recommendations to JournoMed's Head of Content

- First 60 days, recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking, and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords

- First 60 days, complete a review and edit of our SEO checklist and develop a how-to path for creating superb, in-depth SEO content with a team of writers

- First 90 days, complete a review and audit of our SEM strategy to fine-tune and optimize

- Work closely with our Marketing lead to develop our 2022 SEO & SEM strategy and goals

- Closely align your work with Product Marketing's messaging and the other work of the Content Department, including the Podcast, social and brand

- Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns

- Track, report, and analyze website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns

Manage campaign expenses, staying on budget, estimating monthly costs and reconcile discrepancies.

- Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing

- Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization

- Research and implement search engine optimization recommendations

- Research and analyze competitor advertising links

- Develop and implement link building strategy

- Work with the development &content team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code

- Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming

Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years proven successful marketing background, with 2+ years of b2b marketing

- 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience

- Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition

- Experience with website analytics and SEO tools for crawling, rank tracking, keyword research, and technical auditing such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush, Moz, Ahrefs, WebTrends, Google Ads, BrightEdge, etc.

- In-depth knowledge of search engine optimization practices

- Demonstrated ability to use data to identify insights, make recommendations, and inform the development of strategies and projects

- Understanding of ranking factors and search engine algorithms

- Strong content strategy skills, ideally with experience in content creation

- Excellent writer and editor

- Experience managing paid search, PPC, or SEM campaigns preferred

- Experience managing freelancers or direct reports

- Passion for staying current in a rapidly evolving digital environment

- Strong presentation skills to tailor messages to audiences, communicate complex topics

- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript development and constraint
