Position Overview

McCain is embarking on a digital transformation. As part of this transformation, we are making significant investments into our data structures and policies to increase the quality of our data, the confidence of our business teams to use this data to make decisions and drive value through the use of data. As part of the digital transformation, McCain has invested significantly in new processes and tools. We are establishing in the APACSA Region a Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence (COE), to drive a strategic focus on data processes and systems to act as a 'spoke' of our global Data & Analytics Hub. We are currently recruiting a talented individual to join our team in the role of Data Analyst for the India business.

The purpose of this position is to lead Data and Analytics transformation within the McCain India business and embark on the transformation of our data and analytics experience by partnering with our Global Data & Analytics COE and business stakeholders across India to gather, analyse, communicate, and validate analytics and data requirements for changes to and the implementation of analytics solutions on medium to high levels of complexity. Build prototypes & proof of concepts where required and partner with global COE team and external vendors to industrialize solutions. The position needs to ensure the timely prioritisation and delivery of high quality of data & analytics solutions.

The ideal candidate is a Purple Person - "Business people, the actuaries, know what data they need and can define requirements, but typically don't have the skill set to design a data architecture that gives them the data they need. Technology people typically don't understand the business requirements, but they can design the data architectures. IT people speak blue, the business people speak red, but we need people who speak purple in order to create an appropriate solution."

Core Accountabilities/Outcomes

1. People & Team - Make safety a priority and champion a safety culture with the team. Actively participate in the McCain People Processes and ensure activities 100% complete within agreed timeframes. Contribute to the Our Voice focus groups and action plans

2. Business Partnering - Develops and maintains relationships with a focus on Regional & Global Technology CoE's and India business partners including senior leaders. Identify and explore opportunities to realize value through data-based insights and related technology.

3. Analytics - (POC) Responsible for

- Design of APACSA/India data models, including enrichment through third party sources.

- Work with technology partners to design systems to support data model design and needed data pipelines to support analytics

- Work with colleagues in Global CoE and in APACSA business teams to understand business questions to solve with data, including:

- Prioritizing key dashboards and analysis that are essential to running the business today

- Building BI Proof of Concepts to validate the movement of data to insight to action.

- Expanding on data sources (including 1st party data opportunities and new 3rd party data sources) to uncover new ways of looking at the business and finding new opportunities

- Build a backlog of data sciences use cases / advanced analytics projects to work to drive value for business stakeholders

- Continue to modernize data reporting / dashboards to improve adoption and usage

- Identify data governance and/or data quality clean-up activities and connect Data Governance team to drive the activity.

5. Service & Value Management - Ensure the efficient delivery of Technology services to the businesses served within agreed SLAs and financial targets.

Authorities:

Financial: Accountable for completion of project operating within approved budgets.

Staffing This position could have to indirectly manage a number of people for the length of a Program/ project. The number of indirect reports and the duration of the reporting relationship would be determined during the planning phase of the project.

Other:

This position will have the freedom to propose new programs / projects that optimize the decision making within APACSA.

The freedom to act of this position while executing transformational initiatives is confined only by the program / project budget and deadlines, project methodology, and the project management office. This position would not have the freedom to modify or set procedures or policies, but will influence them and make founded requests to adapt to the real benefit of the served business.

Skills/Knowledge/ Experience

To effectively perform in this job the position holder must have:

Skills

Project Management: defining and shaping your own agenda

- Experience with managing and influencing executive-level audiences, including meeting facilitation, hypothesis generation and delivering conclusions

- A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion

- Ability to analyse a critical path - drive progress against tight milestones and where applicable deep dive into critical areas. Project, planning and estimation management skill set.

Change Management:

- Comfortable working with business stakeholders across a range of experience with data and analytics

- Able to establish a case for change and "sell" an idea

- Able to explain data concepts in a way that is approachable and compelling

Data Design and Analysis :

- Experience with requirement analysis (interviewing, facilitation, gap analysis, data analysis, business process mapping, user interface design and mock-up)

- Experience in translating data use cases, requirements to Data Science/Technology teams and translating results into insights for the business

- Strong data management / data transformation abilities

- A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements

Digital Skills:

- Minimum two years of experience working with BI and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Microstrategy, Qlik, Tableau)

- Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment preferred

- Understanding of SQL or any other programming languages such as Python, R or SAS

- Nice to have: Experience working in FMCG industry; familiarity with key KPIs in FMCG's (or strong willingness to learn this functional space)

- Nice to have: Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence/rules design concepts and toolsets

- Strong business partnering: ability to engage, interact, influence, and be a trusted and credible internal adviser.

- Excellent facilitator, well organised with highly effective written and verbal communication skills

- Demonstrated learning agility.

- Problem solving - determine the source of a problem and find an effective solution.

- Externally connected within business & technology communities.

- Active Listening - understanding needs of business users/customers and working with functional groups.

- Negotiation Skills - requires strong decision making and negotiation skills to influence and persuade in their working relationships.

- Formal Presentations - required to present information to people and teams at all levels including business users/customers.

- Tact and diplomacy - ensure professionalism when dealing with internal customers and outside vendors.

Academic:

Must have: Bachelors degree in a Business or IT discipline.

- Commercial acumen to drive business performance

Professional/Technical Accreditations:

Must have: English - proficient user (CEFR C1, ILR Level 4)

Experience.

- Minimum 2 years of experience working with BI and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Microstrategy, Qlik, Tableau)

- 5+ years in business partnering experience, IS leader for a business or business leader of major Transformational Program.

- 3+ years Business Analysis, including Business Case Development

- 3+ years in project management of Waterfall and AGILE methodologies

- 5+ years working with an Outsource partner

- FMCG experience where the advice given, and decisions made had a measurable impact on the profitability or effectiveness of the organisation. This may include, but limited to, the use of data and analytics to reduce waste, increased business performance, improved work force utilisation or improved quality.

- Demonstrated experience in identification of opportunities and manage business change to realise opportunity.

Location and Travel

- Position is located in Delhi, India.

- Travel Requirements

- domestic travel required (2 weeks per quarter)

- international travel required (1-2 weeks per year)
