The role requires expertise in building large capability center specializing in Analytics, Consulting, Actuarial, CAT modelling, NLP and Data Science. This position includes building out a global network of direct and matrix reporting resources (including within our India COE), working with stakeholders to understand their requirements as well as building out a framework for meeting those requirements and establishing best practices for colleagues elsewhere that wish to create their own dashboards. Developing complex statistical modelling tools involving linear and non-linear optimization models, artificial intelligence methods, machine learning, deep learning and advanced statistics. - Driving operational excellence by developing & publishing futuristic operational scorecards. - Conceptualizing the data strategy for the organization's data masters including data design, data dictionary, data capture, data governance, cloud implementation strategy, privacy & security. - Empowering teams to be able to lead advisory on claims, reserving, pricing, valuations and catastrophic modelling for major Insurance companies. - Building a strong first line of defense for resilient operations, owning the BIA matrix for entire function, ensuring compliance to data protection & management information policies. - Develop a framework for delivering operational, analytical, and transactional dashboards that provide measurable and differentiated business value to the enterprise. Dashboards that inspire colleagues to think expansively and outside the box. Dashboards that delight our clients. - Provide insights to our colleagues on how to optimize their current processes and achieve continuous states of improved data quality. - Support a global organization of diverse users with overlapping regional and global needs. Navigate the balance between short-term imperatives with long-term strategic objectives. - Drive the vision & strategy for improving operational efficiencies across different business areas and geographies as well as identify synergies with other operations functions. - Review the needs of reporting teams to meet their analytics requirements and explore and monitor businesses performance trends across the business and improvement initiatives. - Work with business users on translating their use cases into business and technical requirements according to standards, including leading business strategy planning efforts and developing high-level strategies across departments. - Ensure that the business is responding to critical reporting metrics and analyses required to support all areas of business management and ensures alignment with developing business strategies and initiatives. - Advise management on complex projects across departments, working with colleagues across various functions to develop and continuously improve the reporting and analysis infrastructure. - Maintain and develops a wide network of effective relationships with other department heads to align departmental priorities across operation, technology and business stakeholders. - Define dashboard and metrics reporting standards and support implementation across departmental activities. Standards should be consistent with industry best practices and comply with current and emerging industry regulatory requirements. - Work collaboratively with various Technology and Data Management teams to create and maintain a suite of data quality rules, KPI and SLAs for all in-scope systems. - Work collaboratively across the Marsh McLennan divisions for opportunities around tool selection, best practices and efficiencies. What you need to have: - 20+ years of experience with a similar role, ideally within the Insurance or Financial Services or Consulting. - Extensive experience with projects in Digital innovation, analytics solutioning and service delivery excellence by leveraging expertise in Analytics, Consulting, Actuarial & Data Science including Machine learning, Artificial intelligence and NLP. - Deep and abiding appreciation for all things data-its role, impact, challenges, and potential with an organization. It is especially important to be knowledgeable in the full gamut of Data Quality dimensions and processes. - Experience structuring and managing behavior change across complex, global organizations. - Extensive experience decomposing system processes from a workflow perspective to drive performance enhancements. - Solid written and verbal communication skills, along with ability to extract business requirements from client use cases and translating these requirements into technical specifications. - Ability and willingness to collaborate at all levels of a global organization to ensure the successful implementation of change. - An inquisitive mind that is not afraid to question current ways of thinking. - Ability to think creatively (vs. by rote) to ensure completeness, accuracy, and utility. - Ability to generate, sell and execute creative solutions to complex business problems. What makes you stand out? - Understanding of the insurance market-players, processes, challenges/opportunities, and technologies - Understanding of information (e.g. sources, identifiers, standards, glossaries, and taxonomies) within the insurance industry data domain. - Understanding all procedural and technical aspects of the data management process. - Understanding of business process design and systems change management. - Interest in emerging technologies and knowledge of the InsurTech/FinTech landscape. - Familiarity with various analytical and business intelligence methods and tools. - Working knowledge of Agile and other SDLC methodologies, including producing user stories and participating in sprints and daily scrums. Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean principles. - A strong willingness to learn a new domain- getting into its deepest details and being hands-on. - The ability to ask probing questions without getting frustrated and without frustrating others (e.g. the domain and subject matter experts).
