Markit - Vice President - Index Administration Services

Department overview :

- Our products span cover global equity & fixed income markets and include globally recognized benchmarks such as our branded index families including iBoxx, iTraxx and our Markit PMI economic indices. Indices also provide related services which provide Index and ETP constituent aggregation and analysis to manage risk, attribute performance and inform investment decisions.

Position summary :

- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our customers indices are administered in accordance with the IOSCO principles & EU Benchmark regulations.

- He/She will have an excellent knowledge of index benchmarks, market data, financial markets and current industry regulations pertaining to Benchmark Administration and IOSCO compliance.

- This position will be required to lead Index Administration Operations in our Gurgaon region by managing and developing a team across supporting functions.

Duties & accountabilities :

- Have a detailed understanding of the financial services industry

- Develop and manage a team of index and data operations analysts and python developers

- Ability to interpret complex index methodologies in order to generate requirements for data management and index builds

- Ensure that all indices under administration are in compliance with the IOSCO principles

- Ensure all production operations is in compliance with the IOSCO principles and client SLAs are met

- Ability to support UAT and back testing for all new indices

- Work with project managers, business analysts and developers to enhance existing systems to support a scalable and cost effective business offering

- Ensure ongoing delivery and overall quality of service

Business competencies :

Education and experience :

- 10 + years of experience in indices, structured products and/or research functions

- Management experience

- Regulatory & compliance experience a plus

- Post-Graduate degree preferred

- Preferable IT skills (Python, SQL, VBA, Excel)

Commercial awareness :

- Experience with control procedures, the implementation and compliance with various regulatory frameworks

Management : Supervising, mentoring and managing a team across functions
