- Perform primary research on commodity and speciality chemical products by interviewing subject matter experts across USA, Europe and other geographies
- Perform secondary research to analyse other data sets (import - export, trade data, price trends) and publish reports through official company channels
- Develop thorough market penetration reports and strategies to enter new product segments through a mix of primary and secondary market research
- Work closely with Business development and procurement team to understand the customer and supplier pain points to constantly reinvent the new product redevelopment strategy
- Researching global market trends, conducting surveys, analysing data from competitors and analysing the business operations and customer retention to identify patterns of potential issues or improvements
- Maintaining the database of all insights and information that is being researched about products, suppliers, potential target customers, product research, relevant documents
- 4+years of experience working in research, marketing or product development in a chemical manufacturing or distributing firm or market research firm.
- Bachelors or masters degree in chemistry from a recognized university will be preferred.
- Knowledge of market sizing & forecasting, supply chain management, trade and pricing analysis. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Should be analytical, first principles thinker and a problem solver at heart
