POSITION : Architect – Sustaining Engineering

REPORTS TO : Director

EXPERIENCE : 10-12 Years

EDUCATION : BE/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA

The Architect-Sustaining Engineering should be a self-driven and possess strong technical skills. He will understand and provide solution to the critical defects that are escalated by sustaining engineers. He will also support parallel organizations such as System Test, Managed Services and Professional Services. He will contribute to the organization through new feature development and ideas during product road map for any of Manthan’s products.

BROAD RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Be the Technical Specialist or SME for Technical Solutions for any application performance or defects

- Responsible for customer business continuity with respect to the application & develop deep understanding of customers’ business operations and model the solutions & articulate the customer requirements

- Contribution to Product Knowledge Base and product road map

- Ability to understand the end-to-end functional & code flow

- Understanding and Adhering to SLA’s, bringing up issues/call outs.

- Active participation in Java User Group and Java Forums

- Provide sustaining support for cross functional and cross product teams

- Maintain strong working knowledge of products and develop product improvements

- Provide technical action plans, or take ownership of the most difficult cases.

- Diagnose, troubleshoot/debug critical issues using standard tools and techniques

- Design review of any new enhancements or customization of the products

- Collaborate with customer and various stake holders on the right priority and plan to address important incidents

- Replicate, debug, and fix product issues in various environments, working with product developers as needed. Good analytical skills, ability to carry out Root cause analysis and come up with workarounds/resolutions

PRE-REQUISITES FOR THE ROLE:

- Strong hands-on experience with web based applications including configuration, deploying and debugging

- Strong hands-on experience in Core Java, J2EE, Java Script & Design Patters

- Working knowledge of tools such as Jprofiler, Jconsole, YourKit,

- Experience in troubleshooting system crash, memory leaks and application performance tuning

- Ability to perform under aggressive deadlines and work effectively

- Experience debugging application performance, understanding system and application logs, memory leaks, system and memory dumps.

- Should possess understanding of the large scale server side deployment architecture & exposure to server clusters and scalability issues

- Experience of working in product sustaining engineering

- Exposure to working on high volume data driven applications would be a plus

- Ability to quickly learn and stay current with new technologies, product features and their architecture

- Hands-on experience with Application Servers and experience with Apache, Tomcat

- Experience or exposure to any of the BI solutions such as Jaspersoft , SAP BI, Microstrategy etc along with BI or DWH would be a advantage

- Proven analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to develop/evaluate new tools, methodologies and processes relevant to performance of the team.
