Position: Manager UW

Location: Goregaon, Mumbai

Department: Operations & Services

Function: Underwriting

IMPORTANT NOTE: People with life insurance experience only required

Key Responsibilities:

1.Analyzing the medical and financial information provided by insurance applicants

2.Determining the risk associated with insuring a person

3. Evaluating the recommendations and observations made by the sales force

4. Deciding whether or not to offer insurance to applicants.

5.Calculating premiums and appropriate amounts of coverage.

6. Making the department MIS

7. Researching additional information, such as medical histories or credit scores.

8. Analyzing and determining the relevancy of risk factors.

9. Coordinating with the actuarial, product and claims team as and when required

10. Managing the administrative and operational responsibilities

- Vendor management

- Reinsurance management

- Process review and analysis

- Measures of Performance:

- Quality Scores/Errors

- Underwriting TAT as per KPI

- Feedback from stakeholders

- Training Delivery

- Initiatives & Automation

Required qualifications and experience :

1. Qualification: Graduation. (Preferred candidates with Medical / Paramedical Education or with Training in UW through ALU / III / LOMA / COMET / Other similar programs)

2. Underwriting experience of 8-10 yrs in life insurance or work experience in industries like Health Insurance

3. Understanding of Risk Management through an understanding of Medical/ Financial/ Residential / Occupational / Avocational risks

4. Financial Documentation Analysis (P&L, Balance Sheets, ITRs, etc)

5. Good Command and skills in MS Office

Knowledge and skills desired :

1. Strong analytical skills.

2. Detail-oriented work style.

3. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

4. Interpersonal skills

5. Should have good public speaking skills, with an ability to communicate the requirements to the claimants.

6. High on achievements and should have strong domain skills in administering this role in accordance with the Organization's expectation.

7. Training the other stakeholders on Underwriting guidelines within the organization
