Manager - Transportation

Job Purpose: Involves overseeing and managing inbound transportation operations. Coordinating the movement of goods, materials, and products from suppliers to distribution centers / Plant locations.

Key Responsibilities:

TMS Module Implementation: Transport Management System Module is the portal to carry out all the processes from indenting to payments. It will lead to reduced manual interventions, better tracking of KPIs, real time tracking of vehicles and better visibility for transporters and supply chain team.

RM Transportation Placement -Inbound: Truck Placement is the actual vehicles placed in the plant against the plan available for the day. Placement Efficiency = Trucks Placed/Trucks Planned

Rate discovery (yearly) & Freight Benchmarking (quarterly): Quarterly Market Survey (RFQ from new vendors & Freight Exchange inputs) (Instances)

RM Transportation Cost Savings: Cost optimization through digitization, improvement, and network redesigning.

Tonnage Report Development for RM Movement: Tonnage reports provide the actual dispatch tonnage in kgs as well as volume metric. This also provides shipment cost.

- Sustainability - Able to identify vendors who provides multi model transportation.

- Continuous Improvement in Transportation process to be ensured by undertaking QIPs catering to pain areas, registering Kaizens etc.

- To ensure timely truck placements at reduced cost on continuous basis for inbound transportation
