We are having an opening for the position of Technical Operations Manager - Appliances division with one of our client in Consumer Durables Industry.

Responsibilities :

Objective Of The Role : Responsible for the successful development and manufacture of the product at a technical level and production as per the design.

Responsibilities :

Product Development :

- Based on the product brief and with the assistance of Design to develop the product.

- Detail out the materials required that will go into the product development which includes the external characteristics of the product as well as the internal.

- Outlining the cost of producing the product and methods to decrease the cost.

- Ensure that the product is developed as per customer convenience and offerings by other competitors

- Develop the aesthetics of the product in collaboration with the Design department.

- Work closely with the Product Manager-Customer facing to incorporate aspects that are defined at a marketing and customer level

- Evaluating competitor products and deciding how the product being made by the company will be different.

Testing and Validation :

- Ensuring that the product conforms to the norms which include domestic like ISI and international norms

- Ensure that the product conforms to safety norms.

- Product developed must be validated at an engineering level to test for electrical variables, heat, stress and other such parameters etc

- Conducting trials of the product to ensure 0 failure

Material and component development :

- Identify vendors that will produce the products and check the quality norms and standards in consultation with Purchase

- Ensure that the components of the product are such that they are available easily and will not cause bottlenecks in production, this includes molds

- Determine the optimum price of these raw materials and negotiate with purchase department to ensure best rates.

Production :

- Standardization of parts and components for better inventory control

- Mold and tool design review and development

- Developing & implementing systems, processes and procedures for new product to facilitate smooth functioning of overall production operations and enhancing operational efficiency.

- Guiding the production team on the production elements

- Ensuring that the product achieves the desired quality as per the stated standards.

- Consultation with the production team to ensure stabilization of the product.

Competencies/Skills :

Knowledge :

- Knowledge of appliances market and products

- Knowledge of plastics and polymer formulated products

- Engineering knowledge and design understanding

- Understanding of insulation systems and preferable if knowledge of thermodynamics and heat transfer engineering

Skills :

- Product development at a technical level

- Ability to connect with vendors for product development both domestically and internationally

- Engineering understanding especially in electrical-AC/DC, SMPS system

- LED and electrical circuits
