Position : Systems Operation Manager
Reports to: Head of Global Accounting and Control
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a team of four plus team members in Boston and New Delhi. Assess whether additional resources are necessary for the team to effectively provide support to the business
Establish service level standards for the Accounting Service Operations team. Lead the team in delivering support in accordance with these standards
Lead the support and maintenance of HFM. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Maintain the HFM chart of accounts, reporting, SmartView and process management
- Maintain the data mappings and load file (FDMEE).
- Provide user support and training on HFM, Smartview, Time and Billing and Oracle.
- Develop best practices and communicating these to users
- Map various financial processes involving HFM and other Oracle systems
- Establish of an automated user request portal
- Address user requests as received
- Determine ad hoc projects to be addressed by the team related to HFM as a result of feedback received from users as well as issues encountered
Lead the development of further enhancements to HFM. These enhancements include the Phase 2 of the financial results portion of the financial information management project as well as additional requirements that will come about from changes in Company business. In this regard, responsibilities will include partnering with other managers within various finance functions and the Business Systems Group to determine the nature, timing and scope of projects
Serve as the GAC leader working with managers within the Business Systems Group to implement changes to Oracle Financials and the Oracle time and billing system
Serve as the GAC leader working with managers in other groups within Global Finance to develop accounting systems related solutions to issues that result from current out of date systems and processes that interact with HFM, Oracle financials and the Oracle time and billing systems
Partner with other managers within GAC and Global Finance to provide support for planning models such as the strategic planning template, tax planning template, foreign exchange model and the long term compensation vehicle template
Working with the Accounting Systems operations team and other leaders within GAC, establish a strategy and operating plan for the management of finance master data. Lead the communication of the strategy and operating plan to senior leaders. Once approved, lead the team to execute on the requirements of this plan. Partner with other managers responsible for master data management within other functions (i.e. HR) that impacts finance
Serve as the Data Steward responsible for the assessment and approval of project codes within the Oracle time and billing system
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 12+ years of accounting systems-related work experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Information Systems
- MBA or CPA/ Chartered Accountant status preferred
- 5+ years of management experience at a large multinational company required
- Experience working within a professional services firm in a business partnership role is a plus
- Significant prior experience with enterprise software and business intelligence software solutions
- Robust knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Enterprise, Oracle Smart View, Oracle R12, Oracle Financials, Business Objects or other comparable systems.
- Advanced computer literacy (use of Microsoft Office and corresponding software applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
- Strong management, interpersonal and communication skills required
- Strong leadership skills; must be able to effectively set the direction for the team, prioritize work and meet the needs of key stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior members of management
- Travel will be required - approximately 25 - 30% during the first 12 months of employment, approximately 10% thereafter
